Gotham Gotham Season 3 Episode 14 - "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies"

I think they meant the word itself and not the actual character, but hopefully, that's not the case.

I don't know. Gotham has made some mindboggling questionable decisions in the past and it wouldn't surprise me if they do the same mistake again in favor of concealing the Joker's origin because the "herp dee durr joker shouldn't have an origin" fans will throw a fit.

I guess in a way it's good that I'm feeling pessimistic at the moment. On the one hand, if they don't kill him and send him to Arkham (seems like the mirror scene will be the climax of the episode, so no chemical baths I guess), I will be pleasantly surprised and sigh in relief. On the other, if they do kill him off again for that horrible concept, at least I would have seen it coming and not be angry at the outcome. Just very disappointed, really.

Sorry for harping on this, guys, but I'm trying to be cautious here when it comes to my expectations this time around in case it does happen.

They'd kill him off to appease canon fanatics?!

That ship has sailed...

The only reason Cameron would not be back in the role would be if he was no longer interested or available.

Considering Cameron stated they had already worked out his return before they even killed him, this shouldn't be a concern. The Joker has "died" a million times. He always comes back. It's the last thing anybody should worry about because there's no way Jerome's gonna get a perma-death. :cwink:

Well, not necessarily because of that, but I think they might still want to stick to their original vision for the Joker. I'm basically hoping for the best and bracing for the worse at this point, but I won't reiterate that anymore.

Anyway, it does seem like Jerome won't be taking any chemical baths in this. That trailer was pretty spoiler-y. Unless that's the one thing they're concealing, but this is Fox we're talking about.

So, we think next stop is Arkham Asylum?

I mean, I'd be truly shocked if Bruce actually beat Jerome to death. Then again... that level of guts would impress me.

If there's no chemical bath that'd be my next guess (Jerome going to Arkham Asylum).

They may think it's too early for the former, so it's likely they may want to hold off on it.

New promo! And it's juicy. :joker:

Jerome doesn't look too good there when Bruce is beating the crap out of him. Should we be concerned?

Looks like the winter finale is going to be so good!!!! Jerome VS Bruce! The Cult growing! Almost everything, as I'm not that excited for the conclusion of Penguin VS Ed

I can't believe we've waited close to three years, and everyone said "no way that kid could play Batman", "no way that kid could fight", and here we are with a Joker stepping straight out of the comics and everyone buys it...

Glorious times ahead.

I actually think Bruce had a pretty good proto-Batman scene when he tricked Silver that one time.

David Mazouz nailed that scene.

When they give him the material, he delivers. Always been that way. Sometimes he even delivers without material.

The most awesome thing is that Cameron's said that most of the dialog in next episode between him and David wasn't even scripted but impromptu. If a 23-year-old guy can pull that off with a fifteen-year-old and get that cleared by the executives...? God damn.

Damn he looks terrible! Jerome is in serious need of super glue.

"Where is he?!"

Jim continues to pull his best Batman. Also, I know it's destiny for the two to be linked, but within the context of the show, why does Jerome have this fixation with Bruce? They've only met once before this and the only reason that happened was Jerome picking Bruce at random when he took over that party.

I'm not exactly sure but I think that Bruce is the only person Jerome's decided to kill that isn't dead already.

Flimsy reason at best, I know.

Imo, it's kind of no different than Joker in the comics always targeting Gordon, even though he doesn't have a reason too.

But in this case, Jerome feels like he needs to be on a bigger stage per Cameron's own words. What bigger way to set the stage than killing a billionaire after you've already injected the city with a full dose of madness?

True, though he did kill Sarah Essen and stab one of those rich bigwigs at the party, so that's gotta count for something as well.

I feel compelled to point this out on the buzz about the show.

This thread already has more replies than any other season 3 episode discussion thread and the bloody show hasn't even aired.

The power of Jerome being center stage. :cwink:

It certainly brings the buzz. I think it's part Jerome, and part the clash. It's crazy what only one year can change.

We've gone from this:

Would anyone have bought Bruce Wayne fighting Jerome f-----g Valeska one on one one year ago? Who's got a problem with it now?

Let's face it, Bruce is the only hero on the show. Jerome is by far its scariest villain. It's the greatest feud in comic book history.

... hype?!

'Cause it's destiny my d00d

Cameron really is trying to make an undeniable mark with the character. And thus far, he's succeeding beyond even my wildest of expectations.

Check out the Nicholson smile on him in the first gif. :woot:

I think a real "hum" factor here is that after this episode, Jerome will remember Bruce as the kid that handed him his ass at 15 years of age. He'll definitely know he's not a normal kid.
