Goyer's Venom script?

As intersting as a Venom film would be good to see. I am just not very keen on Goyer's script. Venom belongs first in a Spider-Man film, then a spin-off might be nice.

I don't understand this. Was Goyer's script supposed to take after a Spidey film where Venom was in it or he just wanted to make a Venom movie w/o him meeting Spidey?

No, there was no Spidey connection. There aren't alot of plot details known but the symbiotes were going to make there way to earth and find Brock and Kasady. Venom was going to be the anti-hero of the flick. Venom4life posted a link in this thread to an article with a brief description of the script.
It certainly wouldn't have been the best way to introduce Venom to the big screen. Goyer is creative and is great at writing dark comic book characters but it still wouldn't have been the same. I wasn't longing for this film to happen until Raimi cast Jack Skellington as Venom in SM3. It seems like the Lethal Protector is screwed until someone in the future wants to give him his due. Someday, I hope.

Yeah...that doesn't seem suspicious at all. No offense but it seems very odd that you have the "script" but cant post it but you can post images of a couple of pages to legitimize your claim. Wouldn't posting images of a script you cant show us not be allowed as well lol?

I'm part of a screenplay collecting / trading group and they take it pretty seriously. A lot of rare scripts are not allowed to leak, but posting a few pages just to confirm it exists isn't really leaking. I have a drive with 10GB worth of scripts filling it. The Venom script is 118 pages. It's legit, and it's in my Google drive. I'm sorry I can't share the entire thing, but that's not my call. Showing you the few pages, though, should at least tell you it exists. I was just trying to be helpful in confirming this.

As someone who's a DC fan at heart, but has been totally sucked in by the MCU since GOTG ( I mean, since GOTG the worst film we have had has been Age of Ultron - which is not a bad film at all !) -2016-17 have been just amazing (I loved, loved, loved GOTG vol 2) well I can say just this.....I hope Marvel doesn't do anything with Goyer.

If it's any indication TDK, unquestionably WB/DC's greatest superhero film had very little Goyer input, and WW( , a close second (although I feel it's a bit overrated) had no Goyer input. Then you have Man of Steel (Goyer writing, and Nolan only producing) and then B v S, Goyer writing (and no Nolan) What does this tell us ? I submit that it tells us that if you want to make a film piss off fans and be almost joyless, get Goyer involved.

The MCU is enjoyable and engaging and bringing some difficult characters to life, you really don't want this guy anywhere near it.

But that's just me.
