Grayskull: Masters of the Universe - Part 2

I have Kevin Durand for Trap-Jaw. I figure Adkins' prowess would be better showcased by a character with all of his original limbs intact.

unless they follow the original series and make his mother from earth, but THAT IS IT.

I don't even want his mother being from Earth. It has nothing to do with the main narrative and just feels out of place.

I'm trying to work it into my own script, even though I freely admit that it's quite irrelevant to the overall story. Even if I make it work, I can't imagine bringing it up in further sequels.

While where on the subject, does the rest of the kingdom know that Marlena is an alien? Or is it a royal secret? I'm leaning towards the latter.

How about Robert Maillet as Trapjaw?

Naw. Beast Man should be the biggest of Skeletor's henchmen, and Robert is already 7 feet tall. They'd had to get, gasp, Shaq to play Beast Man then. :(

Who has the rights for this and is it actively being developed?

Well if Beastman can't speak human, like in the '87 movie, than I have no problem with Shaq in the role. Although The Great Khali has more of a "Ron Perlman" look to him (ie: perfect for gluing prosthetic make up to his face).

Other suggestions for Trap-Jaw? Maybe some real actor?
I think he shouldn't be a one-dimensional killer machine. He was Kronis before, remember

I remember when I first saw Annie Lennox in the " Sweet Dreams " video as a kid, and thought she looked liked Evil Lynn.

Imagine sitting inside a big cinema complex seeing the bad-ass live action adaption of Masters of the Universe. The theme song is being played out loud, an orchestral version of the original. I get goosebumps all over my body just by thinking about it.

Listen to this:

That's how I imagined the film version of the theme song would work, but without the sung "He-Man" chorus (the "She-Ra" stuff works though). It's an improvement, but it's still a too cheesy part of the song to take seriously, and should be taken out of the sheet music.

Agree that "He-Man" should be left out of the theme song. They can go instrumental with that too.

I guess I will feel a little overwhelmed when this happens for real, the music and the characters and the settings etc.

Now who should play Orko, or rather do his voice??

In the voice actor community, Frank Welker, Rob Paulsen or Scott McNeil are ideal for that character.

For a mainstream celebrity voice, most of the names I can think of are girls from some reason: Reese Witherspoon springs immediately to mind. Maybe Steve Carrell or Conan O'Brien with some synth effects.

Reese Witherspoon as Orko just makes no sense to me.

There's also the chance the writers and producers don't like Orko and just jettison him entirely.

I know it's silly, but it's also silly to put Hollywood actors into voiceover roles when there are real voiceover actors who can do the job better, and more cheaply.

If you're a squid-dick producer who's convinced that a big time celebrity is needed for the movie's one voice-over role, why would Reese be any more senseless than any other casting decision they could make? She has a sharp, high-pitched voice, and she's done VO work before.

Yeah but in that case I don't think it would be a type like Reese Witherspoon.

The voice of Orko - I say hire Gabe Khouth, the guy who voiced him in the 2002 series.

Awhile ago I had an inkling that Jack McBreyer from "30 Rock" would fit as Orko. They could pitch his voice up unless he can do it himself.

Wouldnt it be cool if Dolph was in the new He-man movie if there is one? He can be King Grayskull or He-ro or Adam's dad. I'm sure they can find a way to fit him in, after all, we know Adam is like the 3rd or 4th guy to have the powers.

Several suggestions for Orko. But I rather have JTT myself. His voice is (was) pretty unique, and could work well for the character.

Now, how about Nick Nolte doing the voice of Hordak? The thought just struck me the other day.

As I've said before, I'm pushing for Ian McShane as Hordak, since he's got that natural gravitas and authority. Plus he's scary as hell.

Good suggestion, but only as long as he uses more of his real voice and is less effected as Skeletor will inevitably be.

We don't need TWO cackling liches; think about how much more intimidating Hordak would be if his voice was close to a normal human?

Wait PR, why is it inevitable that Skeletor's voice will be enhanced in post? It's never been that way in any other version.

But yeah, McShane don't need no stinkin' voice effects to become Hordak.
