He also didn't have the acting ability to play He-Man in the first place.

I thoroughly enjoyed every other scene when he'd battle someone and grunt "hoo-ah!"

And the final battle with Skeletor? Master thespian.

"Victory."

To be honest, He-Man is such a cheesy character that one doesn't necessarily need great acting ability to play him. All one truly needs is the build and a head of blonde hair, which he had.

While Dolf might be able to still do the action scenes required for such a role, I don't think he'd really look the part once his shirt's off. Better to have him play the smaller role of Prince Adam's/He-Man's dad.

I say, find a recently retired pro bodybuilder or pro wrestler, maybe even an American football player, who looks the part and wants to make the transition from bodybuilding/wrestling/football to acting. You never know, you might just stumble across a diamond in the rough.

LOL, yeah. He was so upstaged by Langella in that movie it was hilarious.

You might not need great acting ability, but you need to have SOME. I mean, He-Man is (or should be) your central character, and thus you need an actor with some charisma that the audience will cheer for. Dolph simply didn't have it. He just came off like a poor man's Arnold (who is also a bad actor but at least had enough charisma to make the Conan movies watchable).

Like Brian Bosworth!!

Yeah, I'd rather have a Langella cameo than a Lundgren one.

The Dolph of now is a far, far better actor than he was when he made MOTU. Far better than some give him credit.

Langella gave it his ALL in the original fllm; I'm talking his heart and soul! In fact, I think he was too good for the film. They were lucky to nab him!

They think they know everything.

no that would actually be scott neitlich who thinks that.

sorry a real inside jab, only fans of the toy line will get it

until i see on set images i refuse to get excited

Like Keaton was upstaged by Nicholson in Batman, or Beatty upstaged by Pacino in Dick Tracy? I could go on.......

Convention has been that the hammy villain always upstages the stoic lead. It's been that way for ages.

You know what made me so mad as a kid?

So you had a group of mercs going after He-Man right? And when they failed, what does Skeletor do? He kills the cool looking one. That armored-lizard dude, instead of that awful 'Blades' guy orthat white haired troll goofball. Stupid!

it was Saurod's fault. he goes for his gun and skeletor is just defending himself.

seriously watch it again and keep an eye on Saurod's hands at his side. its about 1:45

saurod goes to grab the gun knowing he's dead and gets hit before he can move

I agree, the film in general was pure cheese I feel he did a fine job with what he was given. I have always felt like Langella is iconic in that role, and very underrated.

He would've been great back in the day. I really enjoyed that movie where he played a cop that went under cover as a biker. I think it was called Stone Cold. But like The Dolf, I think he's too old now.

Guys I got an idea I just got it. I just figured out who Langella could cameo as (assuming he doesn't play Skeletor again, which he probably won't). He could play King Miro, Randor's father.

That's kinda what I meant. Blonde hair + large muscular build + charisma = He-Man. Dolf had the look and the build, but no acting skill, talent, or even enough charisma to allow people to overlook the fact he had no skill or talent.

The Boz had the look, the build, and the charisma. However I think he was still playing for the Seahawks that year and wouldn't begin making movies until about a year after the movie came out (I could be wrong though, I'd have to double check).

I honestly couldn't care less if Dolph gets a cameo in this movie.

But if Courtney Cox and Mr. Strickland aren't in this, Imma be pissed.

They could play two of The Elders in the beginning of the movie (assuming they go with an adaptation of the 2002 reboot's first few episodes).

I think we should get peter Jacksons to director it since he did lord of the rings

I loved the original cartoon but I hope the campiness of the cartoon is not used for this version.

Ghost Rider gave us a glimpse of how a modern Skeletor could be done. I wonder how will the personality be approached? Schemer? Manipulator? Obsessive? Paranoid? Militarist? Hmm...

So what's the fan consensus, if any, about the inclusion of "Prince Adam" or not? In Thor, Don Blake was bypassed altogether (yes, there was the throwaway line about an ex-boyfriend, but..)
