Top of my head here are my choices:

He-Man: Alexander Skarsgard
Skeletor: Liev Schreiber
Teela: Emily Blunt
Man-at-Arms: James Remar
The Sorceress: Rooney Mara
Beastman: Kevin Durant
Zodiac: John Cena
Orko: Andy Serkis

Skarsgard is already Tarzan. So I doubt he can be He-Man too.

I know. Those are just who I can see in the movie roles. More than likely no fan casting suggestions will be close to what they would look for

Also... here's your cast for Masters of the Universe. ;)

He-Man: Kellen Lutz
Skeletor: Christopher Lambert
Teela: Kristen Stewart
Man-at-Arms: Kevin Sorbo
The Sorceress: Courtney Cox
Evil-Lyn: Jaime Alexander
Beast Man: Scott Adkins
Zodac: David Caruso
Orko: Verne Troyer

Switch Evil-Lyn and Teela and you have a cast similar to the new proposed Fox FF cast.:cwink:

So, I wonder when they will announce a director for this? There is a script by Terry Rossio (Shrek, The Lone Ranger).

Previously planned for G.I. Joe: Retaliation's Jon M. Chu to direct, Columbia Pictures' upcoming master of the universe feature film is, according to reports from both TheWrap and Variety's Justin Kroll, now eyeing a number of names to helm. They include Another Earth's Mike Cahill, Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow, The Karate Kid's Harald Zwart and Chris McKay, editor and animation supervisor on The LEGO Movie. master of t he universe follows Prince Adam, who transforms into a warrior called He-Man and becomes the last hope for a magical land called Eternia, ravaged by technology and the evil Skeletor.

Sony and Escape Artists' Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch have been developing the property, based on the popular Mattel toy line that originated in 1982 and spawned several animated series along with a 1987 live-action film. Terry Rossio, who recently worked on Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger, recently boarded the big screen take to supply a rewrite.

Mike Cahill is such a strange choice. He is hardcore Indie.

Out of all of them, GOD, nobody tickles my fancy. I guess Cahill because he's a very good director in general. Zwart is bad though he got luck with THe Karate Kid remake, and Chris McKay is so random. He's involved with The Lego Movie…but as the animation supervisor? Really?

My pick? Chris Notarile. He's a small, independent writer, producer, director, who has his own production company (Blinky Productions), which just recently moved from New Jersey to Hollywood. He's done a bunch of short films and fan films, never any major feature films. But what this guy can do with minimal budget and equipment? Blows away a LOT of the crap Hollywood cranks out with a million times the resources. So I can only imagine what this guy could do if he HAD those resources!

Plus, when he does fan films, they're done for the fans, by the fans. Thus, if he were to do a He-Man movie, he'd go out of his way to give the fans what they want.

I like Cahill, and Another Earth is one of my favorite films, but that choice seems to come out of nowhere.

I hate to sound like this guy, but I almost feel like a MOTU movie is beneath him, to be honest.

I find it amusing that a lot of the reports leave out Zwart's more recent directorial work on Mortal Instruments, which would be a hell of a lot more relevant to this production if that movie had made more than a dime.

Speaking of Terry Rossio who scripted Shrek. The company who owns the rights to the He-Man property is Dreamworks Animation that made the Shrek films.

Actually I think Mattel still owns the property period. I think Dreamworks Classics just has the Filmation animated series.

Jon Chu being off the project is good news at least. Not surprised he got phased out.

Honestly though, I'll believe this movie gets made when I see it. It's been through countless directors and writers at this point. It's a nut they haven't been able to crack.

I guess they're having trouble finding someone interested in remaking a movie that bombed, which was based off of a cartoon that (let's face it) was pretty damned silly.

I also think that the property is stagnant and Mattel needs to figure something out. There's no cartoon in the works. I don't know if the toy line is active; maybe just collector stuff.

Unlike a Transformers. Unlike a Ninja Turtles.

I think Wadlow would be the best of those choices (I'm very much looking forward to his X Force). My guess is Zwart will wind up with the gig.

I think the following would be a reasonable and realistic choice of cast. Granted if Lutz was a better actor he'd be top choice for He-Man

He-Man-Liam McIntyre

Teela-Karen Gillan

Skeletor-Cilian Murphy

King Randor-Gerard Butler

More to come.

Chu was only phased out due to him also having to direct G.I. Joe, while plans for MOTU are moving ahead swiftly.

Just couldn't do both.

And honestly, I prefer him over the current candidates.

Not really feeling Cillian Murphy as Skeletor, and I'm not really familiar with Liam McIntyre or Karen Gillan, but Gerard butler as King Randor would be very cool.

so the GI Joe director is no longer on this project?

I don't. Retaliation was an improvement but not that good.

It could be worse -we could get stuck with Michael Bay directing He-Man.

I don't know. His horror remakes are all crap, but I quite enjoyed his Transformers movies (which were very financially successful if not critically). Considering all of the rewrites and new directors this project has had while languishing in Development Hell, Michael Bay might not be such a bad choice.

Cillian Murphy is way too weedy for Skeletor. He's like a more effeminate version of Tom Welling. Can't just cast someone for Skeletor because he has a bit of a gaunt face. Hollywood CGI can do that, just like it worked wonders for Two Face in TDKR.

They need to cast someone with a much more commanding presence.
