Grayskull: Masters of the Universe - Part 2

I don't think Teela will be in the 30s in the film. It's either late 20s like the original cartoon or very early 20s like in the 2000s cartoon.

So, what do you people prefer?

Personally, I like her to be more mature like the original cartoon and be leader of the royal guard.
I want Teela to be as young as possible without turning her into a teenager. Probably around the age of 22.
Adam is the teen character of MOTU.
But also, the age difference shouldn't be that big. They're supposed to be a couple in the future.

Teela as a leader of the guard? Isn't she only a captain?
Man-At-Arms has the highest military rank, he's a general. But he doesn't only command, he takes part in the war as a soldier too.

As for Man-At-Arms, why not make him 55? If he was Captain of the Guard when he was 30, and then adopted Teela, when she's all grown up at 25 he would be 55. Makes perfect sense. Besides, just because you're in your fifties doesn't mean you can't still be a tough fighter. Look at The Undertaker for example. He wrestled in the WWE from 1992 up until 2014. Not sure how old he was when he first arrived in the WWE, but he was certainly in his fifties by the time he retired. And he hardly lost a step even in his later matches.
Sounds fair. But I don't think he was 30 when Keldor turned into Skeletor. He was younger. I guess somewhere around 25.
Randor could have been 30, on the other hand.

What about discussing more about Adam's purple pants? You did it while I was abroad for a week :)
Should he wear it in the film or not?

Another issue is the pairing of He-Man and Teela. Almost all candidates that have been suggested are around and over 30 and look more mature. We can't have Teela looking like a teenager! That wouldn't be a good looking pair.

Okay, I looked up the name of the actress. Her name is Rose Leslie, and she's 28 years old.

She totally looks the part.

Yes please. :ilv:

I can see Alexander Skarsgård, Charlie Hunnam and Rhys Wakefield as He-Man.

But the question is if Adam should stay He-Man and not go back to himself when they marry.
Skeletor and the other bad guys have been defeated, so why is there a need for He-Man?

Don't forget that the powers are inside the sword and he can channel them whenever needed. But Adam is his true self.

I don't even think "marrying" is an issue right now. But they need to look good as a pair- similar in age. Whatever actor is playing He-Man will not look younger that mid-to-late 20s so Teela has to look around that age too. That's my logic anyway. I don't like the 2002 "girly" version of Teela.

Didn't you see my post? :)
It's the Adam actor that should look close to Teela in age, because the character is.

And when they finally become the new royal couple, it will be King Adam and Queen Teela, not King He-Man.
The powers of He-Man are inside the sword and should stay there during times of peace.
Adam can still have learned to fight like a regurlar soldier, but not like a uber human. Not until he channels the powers again.

Oh. Okay. Okay. I can dig that, alright.

And, watching the Last Witch Hunter trailer, she looks like someone who could encompass both the youth and the confidence of Teela. So, alright.

Deborah Ann Woll (b 1985), from True Blood, has the right look.

Just exclude the fangs :)

I just know they're gonna cast somebody who's not an actual ginger. Happens every time.

A lot of it depends on how old they decide to make Teela. I've always felt that their best bet is to make her a little older than Adam but younger than He-Man appears to be. The 200X toon, even working within that, still put Teela at about 16.

You don't always need to cast an actor who's the same age as the character though. Just as long as he/she LOOKS to be the right age. Ralph Macchio was about 25 when he played Daniel Laruso in The Karate Kid back in 1984. And he continued playing teenagers, or at least characters in their very early twenties, for years afterwards.

But we don't know exactly when Duncan adopted Teela. Was it before Keldor was turned into Skeletor? Or sometime after? If we're going by the 2002 series, she was conceived during The Great Unrest. Question is, is The Great Unrest what they called Keldor's quest to rule the world? Or did that happen after he and his minions were trapped in The Dark Hemisphere?

And as this is an adaptation of the source material, some liberties are bound to be taken. Hopefully not too many, or too extreme, but it's bound to happen. The liberties taken by the previous two writers were so extreme that they were fired for writing that crap. But a little thing like exactly when Duncan adopts Teela? I don't think that would make or break the story. Not like a He-Man movie that doesn't have He-Man in it anyway.

Calling people hipsters is rather aggressive. Am I a hipster because I prefer the original Eastman & Laird Ninja Turtles?

as tanin said i would if you were talking out of your backside and claiming its the only true version, and you were into it before anyone etc etc

trust me the motu fandom is full of *******s like that. go check out he-man.org its if you claim to like anything like she-ra, new adventures or filmation you'll be sacrificed.

also want a laugh go over there and say you dont agree with mattel and think theyre wrong or say a guy named scott neitlich was moron and caused more harm than good and watch the fireworks

What I posted in my thread:

Prologue: Skeletor receives a prophecy of a human child born on Eternia that will find one of the two swords of Grayskull. His response is to order the slaying of all newborns. This culminates in a face-to-face fight against King Randor in which Skeletor is horribly scared and Randor is slain. Prince Adam is taken from the city into the desert where he is raised.

Story: Orko has been sent into the desert by the Sorceress to find Adam and bring him to Grayskull. Orko serves as the trigger for the hero's journey. He leads Adam to Grayskull where the Sorceress, a holographic AI, gives to Adam the armor and sword of Grayskull.

Adam and his friends go on a quest to Snake Mountain where thousands of humans have been enslaved for the last 30 years following their resistance to Skeletor. Skeletor and Adam fight and Skeletor is defeated with a little help from Orko. Adam leaves Skeletor alive or Skeletor simply escapes his death.

I don't think the story needs to be revamped the way you wrote it. Just go with the 2002 series story line. Include anything that was left out of the series, Like Randor and Keldor being half brothers, and you're golden.

and keldor being the rightful heir but pushed aside due to race issues.

always loved that idea. skeletor is right

Keldor shouldn't be human. I want him to have blue skin and look discernibly alien.

Skeletor needs little motivation beyond the power of Grayskull and the desire to overthrow Hordak.

umm no one said about dropping the blue skin or making keldor non gar.

thats the whole point with the rite to the throne. keldor is half human(king miro) half gar(his mother) and the gar are seeing as a lesser race so thats why he was denied the rite to be king. hence the betrayal of randor, the studying under hordak etc etc

That's the whole point with the rite right to the throne. Keldor is half human (king Miro) half gar (his mother) and the gar are seeing seen as a lesser race so thats why he was denied the rite right to be king. Hence the betrayal of Randor, the studying under Hordak etc, etc.

I was gonna say that, only with fewer spelling and grammar mistakes, but you beat me to it.
