glad im not the only one. i wont get into it too much here but honestly the mods are a bunch of *******s and ive seen far to much of the butt kissing and back stabbing behind the scenes to even go back

if you guys are still interested have a look at the he-man world forums. its a lot more open to discussion and nothing is modded within reason of course

To discuss the characters in a MOTU film, I think it would be best to save some for the sequels.

Buzz-Off is cool, but he and his race should be introduced after Stratos and his kingdom.

Man-E-Faces has ties to Skeletor and a grudge against him. Is this enough to have him in the first film? Not sure!

When talking about Skeletor. He really should wake up Snake Men in the second film after he lost the fight in the first. That would also be a good time to have Kobra Khan (a descendent of the Snake Men). But KK betrays Sketetor and sides with King Hiss instead.

The return of Snake Men requires that Zodak is introduced.
He was the closest ally of Greyskull, right?

Such a powerful hero as Sy-Klone should also appear later in the franchise. Do you agree on that?

Neither Webstor, Two-Bad, Moss Man, Stinkor, Fisto, Roboto, Clawful, Spikor, Jitsu, Rotor, Rio Blast, Rotor, Snout Sprout, Extendar, Clamp Champ are core characters so they all have to be avoided in the first film. It shouldn't be overcrowded!

For the heroes, keep it simple. He-Man/Adam, Teela, Duncan, Stratos, and the King and Queen, maybe Ram Man.

For the villains, I don't mind the lineup that appeared in the first episode of 2002. Not every villain needs a complex backstory; Clawful and Whiplash can just be monsters who don't talk much and just do what they're told.

Evil: Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast-Man, Tri-Klops, Trap-Jaw and Mer-Man

Simple as that

Whiplash and Clawful should be saved

After helping shape the world of Asgard, “Thor” scribe Christopher Yost is now ready to head to Eternia to help He-Man return to the big screen.

Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have tapped Yost to do a rewrite on its reboot of “Masters of the Universe.”

Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow wrote previous drafts of “Masters of the Universe,” which is being produced by Escape Artists principals Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.

Yost cut his teeth in the Marvel writing room on a number of animated properties, before contributing to the first “Thor” film and providing a polish on the script for “Thor: the Dark World.” Marvel was so impressed with his work on the first two films in the franchise that they tapped him to co-write the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok” with Craig Kyle.

Well, let's hope for the best. Then again, the number of unproduced screenplays still out there could fill two planets. Or, they might pull the plug again and adapt it into Thor 4.

This project has gone through a revolving door of writers for about a decade now.

Mattel is continuing the collector line. We got more comics, mini-comic collection, plenty of stuff to keep me occupied as a longtime fan rather than worrying about Hollywood wrecking it. And then having to listen to preachy filmmakers explain how elements of the property are stupid and make no sense and how they are doing the grounded, gritty sci-fi version of Masters of the Universe.

Nothing against Wadlow. His heart and head seem to be in the right place, but nothing he's done convinces me he can pull this off.

Yost at least you look at his work and you know this is in his wheelhouse. He's done stories all across the spectrum. He's written comics and action cartoons. He produced one of the most beloved animated comic book shows ever. He's worked on toyetic shows. It's like, Yost knows how to outline and write this stuff in his sleep IMHO. Now he's writing big budget Hollywood movies.

None of the writers I've ever seen on this have really gotten me excited or made me really think the property is in good hands. Yost I have a lot more faith in.

Finally some good news! Christopher Yost did a very good job on the Thor movies, IMO, so I can't see him screwing up He-Man. The studios on the other hand? That's another story.

Keep in mind that Yost was one of the lead writers/showrunners/producers for Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, one of the most acclaimed and well written and beloved animated superhero shows ever.

...that, and Thor:TDW, while not as "standout" as its predecessor or The Avengers films, it's still a solid film(much like The Incredible Hulk) and it does show shades of how a MOTU-film could be effectively handled on celluloid. Again, Yost's body of work is the one that truly does inspire the most enthusiasm from the previous writers.
