Indeed.

Though it'll be difficult to find arch villains for him. Most of his rogues gallery is consisted of Metahumans.

Who to say they won't bring in super powered baddies, and they can do tech base one no prob. They probably will just stick with crooks, corrupt polications/copr guys for a few episodes. Then toss in a few super villains. There is still likes of count vertigo and those other guys folks mentioned a few pages back that cann easily e tv budget villains. Then if the show is a hit big in maybbe some low key villains to some generalize dc guyys or heck maybe even some black canery villains.

Man GA's rogues kind of suck...

I always thought Clock King was a Batman villain. Didn't know he was originally a GA villain.

That would ruin the realism aspect, if they have superpowered characters.

I THINK, based on everything we've gotten so far, they're going for realism, like Human Target for example.

Hence why I also think Dinah LAUREL Lance is a new character. One without the metahuman powers.

If they wanted to break reality and bring in superpowers, they would have done it in the pilot. The pilot pretty much defines the series and sets the tone for what they're going for. But yeah, the pilot villain is a human.

Dinah is the classic character, but without superpowers. Everything else is in line, even the fact she comes from a family of cops (I remember reading that her father, Lawrence Lance, will be referenced in the show).

As for the villains, I expect them to be reworked in this realistic setting.

Sure he doesnt have as verse baddies as say spiderman/superman/batman. But there is still a handful of villains that could work on tv budget and then like i said above. Whos knows maybe some black canery villains, to some generalize villains. Or maybe shine some nice on some not so known villains and all that.

Also just cause some reports say they may be going realism angle. We dont know what that really means. Plus even if they presented the world as a realistic thing. As long as they leave things open they could bring in aliens/magic/etc.... based characters. No reason to totally cut those stuff out. Plus even if we dont see that stuff at the start of the show and it lasts awhile. They could always add it in later like sv did with including magic stuff. Same with dinah, just if they start her off as a normal human. They could always add in powers later either say her metapowers were latent and developed late, or say she got kidnapped/tortured by some nut physco and he did something to her that caused her to have powers.

I mentioned something like that a few days back. They could easily leave dinah as a normal person. Have her having trouble with her law career. like she always loosing, or the scum she puts away get out of jail early due to some crooked cop/political/corp people. Which causes her to want to seek out justice on her own. Which then she created the black canery ideantity after she sees the good green arrow brings to the city. Then go from there either her without powers, or develop them in some way.

I'd like to see them find a realistic way of doing Deathstroke the Terminator in live action.

If Nolan could rework Bane, this is possible.

Well deathstroke could just be some former/banned military guy with a thing for guns and all that. He doesnt seem that hard of a character to do.

It's not like there's a shortage of supervillains in the DC catelogue that don't have metahuman or alien powers. Constantine Drakon, Rainbow Archer, Clock King, Onomatopoeia, Shado, China White, and Cupid are already Green Arrow enemies and insanely easy to adapt. Then you can cruise around the DCU without ever touching Batman's villains with people like Lady Shiva, Savant, Calculator, Captain Boomerang, Cheshire, Deadshot, and Toyman.

Shado isn't really a villain, though. More like a more extremist vigilante.

I agree with you that most of these can be used with minor tweaks.

Shado sounds like an antagonist I can sink my teeth into.

You are right manic there is plently of guys/girls to use and then toss in normal thugs from time to time. Like Arrows FOTW could be the normal thugs/crooks/political/corp guys. With then special episodes being Dc villain focus. It would be very disapointing if they dont use any ga or like i said bc villains at all. Hell they should at least do meryln if tommy is arthur merlyn or this tommy merlyn ends up taking the merlyn mantle and is a new take on the merlyn character.

I never really liked the whole metahuman explanation as its a bit to x-men for me. They could always go the spider-man route with the more out there villains and have some lab accident.

Count vertigo can stick with the eye-piece being a piece of technology. Brick could have some sort of joker like accident. It really depends what they do with the series. Is it realism, or the sense of realism because they explain things with psuedo-science kind of like spider-man.

Even though his rogues are severely lacking I think its better in a way, cause the ones that do exist really need to be revamped and fans wont be bulking at changes.

Plus as some have mentioned. DC has a lot of villains from other heroes that could potentially work well and since they own all of them their shouldnt be issues. Even third tier batman villains like the great white shark or mad hatter could work.

They could probably turn Canary's scream into a type of sonic device/collar that she can put on. Some type of voice-pitch amplifier.

The collar idea would be a good one if they decide to go with no meta humans. With Queen Industries and the corporate angle it would be easy to introduce something like that.

I wonder how they will address the villains and the series in general. They will probably go with the whole villain of the week thing. The problem with that is that you start to run out of interesting stories to tell fast, especially with the usual 22 episode season. I would rather they did 2 or 3 episode arcs.

well rights issues could still be a problem with heroes/villains look at sv at that characters they were not allowed to use or what not due to what ever was the red tape issues. Now i say majority of GA "Big guns" should be free reign, then they probably have to go with generalize dc rouges, or some lowkey ones.

I'm assuming since GA could visit Smallville, that a Superman or a Clark Kent could visit this show? Or at least be alluded to?

Eh. Been there, done that.

No going to happen with man of steel coming out superman and batman like it was for sv are probably the two big offlimits. Now that doesnt mean maybe offhand mention of smallville, or metropolis.

I'm in the group who doesn't want a visit from Supes or references of Supes. References to Smallville and Metropolis I'm opened to, but not really in favor of.
