Not really but it does suggest that the Daily Planet exists. But Keri isnt really sexy...

That, was a stupid, stupid decision. Why on Earth would they give the role to someone who played the same character in a different, unrelated series (a series they wish to distance themselves from, no less), on the same channel.

Not that big of a deal imo, she wasnt that big of a character and only SV fans will remember her.

Yes to the character of Cat Grant.

A MAJOR NO to Keri Lynn Pratt. She was horrible on Smallville.

The phrasing of the article is misleading though. It's implying that the SV actress won't be used for this version.

So, this basically implies that Superman, or Clark Kent at least exists in this series' universe.

That's a major stretch.

Having Dinah on here doesn't mean the JSA existed.

It only says she'd have a chance to audition...

It's the CW so expect the worst. She should not even have a chance due to being in Smallville. Unless they changed their mind on the whole not being connected thing

Not really. JSA is an organization. But having Dinah does make it likely that other characters in the JSA may exist in some form.

They'll find someone way better.

Keri was miscast. She looks like Jake Llyod in drag and has a voice that makes ears bleed.

Not necessarily.

Especially if this is going to take place in a realistic world without superpowers.

We'll know for sure when the pilot hits.

There's no indication Cat Grant will be a Daily Planet reporter in Arrow. It implies she's a journalist for a TMZ analogue.

I could see it, as she isn't in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. But I don't think Kery Lynn Pratt fits the version of the character that they're going for.

Doesn't really mean anything. Its just keri has/is audtioning for role. Which would be different. Plus take it from say animation standpoint. I seen kat most recently used in young justice. Who was a reporter for some cnn like network. So another thing with the show shooting likely in vancouver as hinted at amell. Keri probably doing work up there still. And if you seen anything of canadian shot shows there is only oh so many actors up there. Watch we are bound to see actors from stargate/bsg/etc.. canadian shows have guest spots in the show.

Craig byne sumes things up better here at his arrow site:

Yup. There we go.

It was worded poorly. Keri Lynn Pratt has nothing to do with this.

I thought it was pretty clear that it would be Cat Grant who would be appearing on the show and not the actress who portrayed her on Smallville.

Ya that is what probably got other sites mixed up. That cat grant may be used(rights clearance oked) and since keri was last person in role. That they mentioned her name. Though on the odd shots she could try testing. But its all up for casting directors/producers if they wanted to use her. But then like craig said if the show does end up shooting in vancouver. We will likely see many known canadian actors appear in various roles. Who appeared in sv, sg, bsg series. Due to the limited amount of working actors from that region.

What would people think of introducing Alan Scott in a second seson (if being made)?
I mean, there's no Oa and no intergalactic peacekeeping. Alan Scott doesn't bring anything cosmic. But the question is if magic would fit in with the tone more than having visitors from other planets.

Alan's suit need to be upgraded a lot, though. The old-fashioned look, the cape and everything, must be left behind. The costume must get some heavy changes to look modern.

If Alan Scott ever showed up wearing his leggings and sweater, I'd demand the soundtrack to "Flashdance" be played around him at all times.

I don't see issue myself. Like I said as lobg as they leave door open for magic/alien to exist in the world. Would be cool to see what they do. We don't have to have aliens/magic poping up all the time. Just know its exist in the world they are creating so they can logically include them down the road.

‘The River’s Paul Blackthorne Joins ‘Arrow’, Jamey Sheridan Set To Play Arrow’s Dad

EXCLUSIVE: The River‘s Paul Blackthorne has been tapped for a co-starring role in the CW drama pilot Arrow, a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow. It stars Stephen Amell as the vigilante superhero who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician in Star City. Blackthorne, repped by SDB Partners and Seven Summits, will play Det. Quentin Lance, the father of Oliver’s love interest Laurel (Katie Cassidy), a gruff, determined city detective who believes true justice can only come from law and order. He’s charged with bringing the vigilante known as The Arrow to justice. Because of his casting being in second position to ABC’s The River, Blackthorne is formally billed as a guest star in the Arrow pilot.

Also tapped as a guest star (and probably recurring) in Arrow is Law & Order: Criminal Intent alum Jamey Sheridan, who will play Robert Queen, Oliver’s father. Susanna Thompson plays Oliver’s mother, Moira Queen. David Nutter is directing the pilot, written/executive produced by Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim. Blackthorne is the first actor from ABC’s midseason drama The River to book a pilot. The horror drama, which premiered last month, has had rough sledding connecting with viewers and its odds for returning next season are slim. Sheridan has been recurring on Showtime’s Homeland.

Paul Blackthorne is the kiss of death as a series regular or recurring.

24 begs to differ.

24 begs to differ.

True, but the odds are on my side.:woot:

The Gates(first season)
Lipstick Jungle(first season)
Big Shots(first season)
Dresden(first season)
The River(first season probably)

I would enjoy a guest appearance by The Human Target(Mark Valley).

Webhead2006: And what about Jay Garrick as Flash? Again, a heavy change of costume (perhaps even ditch the stupid looking helmet????).

Or are both Alan Scott and Garrick better suited for that Booster Gold series?
