Green Arrow

I'm not sure how I feel about the Lemire/Sorrentino run since the island came back into it; not even sure about the entire recreation of the character since Nu52 started to be honest.

I really wanted to like the newest run since the god awful triplets thing. But here's where I find it comes up short:

1. Emiko is pretty much Damian Wayne (way to go avoiding the old cliché of Green Batman)
2. The whole Arrow totem thing just showed us there are about six other people as good if not better than Ollie with a bow - not exactly worlds greatest archer
3. Everything that sent him down the GA path was manipulation by his father, not Ollie finding who he was by the decisions he made when faced with nothing
4. Still hating the comic version of Team Arrow.
5. He's been going almost as long as the JL, but still acts like a petulant rookie
6. If his dad organised everything to get Ollie to the island to prepare/train him to take the Arrow totem (why couldn't he do that himself again?), then does that mean he arranged the attack on the oil rig that resulted in a bunch of people being killed?
7. I don't read Red Hood and the Outsiders, but Roy seems to be doing a much better job of the hero game than Ollie by all accounts

Im so sad that lemire and sorrentino are leaving!!!!!!1 i hear that dc wants to make him into more of the classic robin hood esque type of hero again.

Lemire SAVED green arrow from certain doom, before the lemire and sorrentino came on, arrow was easily the worst book on the shelf, it was laughable.

Cool, but not really sure if I will be reading it. We will see. So thoughts on today's issue guys? I loved it. Really loved the moments between Ollie and Diggle too. Great back and forth between them.

A great conclusion to a damn fantastic run.

The elevator part with Ollie and Diggle was awesome.

So the heroes of the Nu52 have been around for about 7 years at this point, the JL for 5. Ollie has a lot of instances of "years ago" coming up in regards to Roy and Diggle yet is considered "green" as hell by pretty much every hero out there, has limited fighting skills despite being in the game for years, has grown nowt in maturity and responsibility in all that time, and now has a team arrow bordering on half a dozen?

I'm sorry, but aside from the quality of Lemire's story telling, does no one have an issue with where the character is at after so long, and that now we're at the end of this run Ollie is pretty much where he should have been a year after the JL formed, not 5?!

You're bing extremely nitpicky IMO. No I have no issue with it. I think you're thinking too much into all of this.

Man, the only bad thing about this issue was that it's the end of Lemire and Sorrintino's run. This quickly became the first book I read on the weeks it came out.

idk how i feel about what dc's plans are for ollie, after lemires brilliant work im scared for where they take him

Actually I think Moore is making some good points. And I liked Lemire's run. Especially the first arc introducing Komodo.

I just don't think his entire supporting cast needs to be part of his backup/tech team, or the need for Ollie to be so immature and rookie like in pretty much all aspects.

It's not even clear at this point - given as how Lemire's introduction of Ollie's father and his machinations leading to Ollie's time on the island and training now negate the fantastic Year 1 story by Diggle and Jock (and yes I know it's Nu52 so nothing from the past is protected as canon) - why Ollie fights for the little guy (does he even?) or what his motivation is to put on the hood at all.

So I'm all for some wise-cracking (an attempt to mask the pain he endured while stranded and the darkness he's trying to overcome), some Robin Hood approaches (to show he knows what it means to actually lose everything, not just temporarily be without access to it by being stranded until coming home to a big pot of money), and a smaller supporting cast (to show he learned how to fight on his own and make decisions with his own judgement, but recognising the need for a support structure in loved ones/colleagues)

I'm gonna miss Lemire's take. And as much as I like Arrow, part of what allows me to like it is that it is a separate version. It kind of worries me that former Arrow writers are replacing Lemire.

I'm debating on if I'm gonna keep Arrow in my pull now with a new team coming on.
