Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Did all of this happen in the main GL book? I haven't read any of the New 52 (I did read the War of the GLs though), but would like to get back into them once Watchmen ends and a whole bunch of my comics budget opens up. :cwink:
Yep. War of the Green Lanterns was over the three books. But all the Hal stuff is in the main GL book.
Arkillo got his new ring from the Weaponer of Qward in Green Lantern: New Guardians. I actually didn't know about the other stuff myself since I don't read Green Lantern. I just knew Arkillo referenced the fact that the Sinestro Corps is all gone except for him (which led him to christen himself the new God of Fear because he's a bit of a drama queen) in New Guardians. He's also friends with Saint Walker now. :)

Yeah, the emo spectrum is stupid anyways.

*GASP* Hold thy tongue. The spectrum is awesome.

So..I finally gave the show a shot and watched the very first episode. Getting into the animation was difficult, but it's grown on me. I am really enjoying the series!

Yeah, I had a hard time getting into the animation too. Though, I feel like they made some subtle changes this season. It looks slightly different.

Co-signed. I almost stopped watching after the first eppy because of the telltale computer look. But the writing finally got me hooked.

No, it's not. It's flawed. Heavily.

I often compare it to a more complex version of the Force. Instead of all life giving off one form of energy, it gives off numerous ones which can be harnessed and used in a plethora of ways. I love that, but admittedly, I'm a huge Geoff Johns mark.

I agree, I also look at it like "the force". I don't think it's a completely stupid idea..I just think it's really hard to get across to a lot of people. So it's best just left out.

Like I said before, I think something as complex as the ES can't be properly explained in a kid-centric show.

Well...that was an incredibly interesting episode and a very strange ending.

GReat to see Tomar-Re, kilowog and Hal all fighting side by side :)

Next episode Hal gets transported to a steam world!

i was hoping they were done with the ship. i rather see them flying through space like in the beginning of the episode.

Ch'p is apparently the only Green Lantern this episode without a name.

Hal vs. Gardner was awesome, a little late to that party but still required

I didnt think that yellow robot would be that big.

I was hoping that squirrel GL would be part of the group. Hes pretty awesome.

That was a good episode with Hal, Kilowog, Aya, and Tomar Re banning together to take on the Anti-Monitor and the Manhunters. The squirrel GL Ch'p didn't join the group. As for Razer, I don't think we'll see Razer much in this season since his story is tied to the Red Lanterns than anything else. After last episode, I doubt Hal is going to return to Earth at all since his destiny lies in space.

The Aya storyline was solid today, and her question about Razer was a nice touch. I'm glad she's being kept as a vital part of the show.

I don't like Anti-Monitor's head design, but his voice and powers more than make up for that.

I hope the Manhunters become more than just AM tools, and develop a personal war with the GLC at some point.

It was great to see Chaselon. I could really do without C'hp, although my kids loved him.

I felt so sorry for Chaselon, he seemed so lonely and Hal just got his hopes up :(

it seems like the constructs are a lot more creative than they were last season. I'm digging that.
