Games like Haze and Unreal Tournament 3 aren't going to be "big games" for the PS3. They'll sell a few hundred thousand copies at best but they won't be runaway success million sellers.
Heavenly Sword is going to disappoint a lot of people. This game has come a long way from it's (very humble) roots, but it's still lacking the thing that would have made it great.
Hot Shots Golf 5... are you serious?
Folklore is already getting bad reviews, and in all honesty, this game doesn't look exciting in any way, shape or form.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (my own reservations aside) is going to be a good quality game from a good developer, I'm sure, but as a new IP on a system that's still not popular it's not going to take off in any meaningful way. You can expect this to do "Haze" numbers, unless they get some Microsoft-style marketting behind it.
Singstar is a Karaoke game (with a mediocre history) launching next to Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. It's going to be annihilated.
Ratchet and Clank Future will probably be the PS3's commercial-critical hit of the Christmas season. However, if this is going to go up against Halo 3 and Mass Effect, it's going to need the freaking pinnacle of marketing to make a dent.
Multiplatform releases aren't going to be a big deal this Christmas. Call of Duty 4 will do much better on the Xbox360 and Assassin's Creed should as well. Sony's big multiplatform game was, again, GTA4 due to their historical pact with Rockstar (in the same way the Clancy games are related to the Xbox).
Anyway, I feel like of all the (non-GTA4) games, that Lair has the best chance of getting the big-push going. It is mature, visceral, inventive and has great art direction. Despite the gameplay apparently having problems, I still see more people talking about
that than Ratchet and Clank. However, GTA4 was the big deal of the season, and now there's nothing on a Sony system that people would want to talk about over Halo 3.\
Christmas for Sony =
