It sold more than 2 on it's release on an outdated platform back in '98. It's going to be a popular title on a platform that doesn't have many games to suit the casual player. It doesn't taken anything but foresight to see this.
I never said it wasn't going to be popular. And I don't rely on foresight when it comes to sales. I don't have the gift of providence like you seem to have. What's wrong with 2 million? Is that considered bad, nowadays? But in fair honesty, it depends on when its released. Motorstorm is around...what...3 million? Banjo > Motorstorm easily.
Despite what you want to say, the game was good. The story was interesting, the combat system was fun, and the added features were nice little ones. The game was a bit short, I'll admit, but I had a blast playing it. The art direction was beautiful. Still is.
Mmmmmk
And, please research before you talk. The one button **** is actually a very complex system.
Woah. I'm blown away already.
It goes on rythmic button taps instead of just plain mashing. You can mash and get through the game, but the experience is much better if you time counters and take advantage of terrain. The 2nd Video Diary up on XBL shows it in action. If you press X (the melee button) near a low wall, you can smash an enemies head over it. Or if you're near a building's wall, you can forearm the enemy into the wall and then gut him with your sword. All of this is shown in-game. The combat revolves around one button, but it's very sophisticated.
Hmmm. I like it more now. Just watched it. But when he said it, he said he wanted to use that to appeal to casual gamers. That's what the man said. When he said it, I felt as though it wasn't necessary since the controls were perfect before.
If you don't even give it a chance to look at the material, you're just talking out of your ass like always. And Fable 2 will be indefinitely bigger than Hot Shots. I would stake my life on that.
Now I have to reel you back in. I played Fable. I didn't like it. Period. I took back my sales comment on it (in ref. to Hot Shots. Again, I don't give two s***ts about it) but I didn't like the game. You will stake your life on it? Man, you are one of those die-hards, huh? Die hard Microsoft dude, huh? That's why having both will be the way to go for me because it's stunning to see people who will live and die by these things. The sad part is, I think you actually meant that. If Fable sales 4, 5, 6, 7 million I will formally give you and your mob an apology. K?
Maybe. Maybe not. MGS3 only sold 4 mil titles. Too bad, so sad.
I love how you conveniently leave out the sales of the other games. We had already had an MGS for the PS2. The climate is different now. This is the first MGS on the PS3 and the most ambitious one yet. It's everywhere. The anticipation reminds me of the 2nd game.
MGS 2 7 million
Possibly. Then again, Japan snaps that **** up so it wouldn't be a surprise.
I don't think Infamous will be anything special. Sorry.
And I talk out of my a**?
Jak will be good, possibly, but it's not going to become some super-nova blockbuster like some other titles for the PS3 will.
Ditto.
Jak and Daxter sold 3.2 million. Among the 15 best selling PS2 games.
I honestly can't find the sales of the others. I'll look later.
Quite personally? I think Fable 2 will be a higher quality game than the same-old humdrum crap from FF. Sorry, but the series is starting to get repetitive and I wish they'd just throw their weight behind a new series instead. MGS4, we'll see. I loved Banjo Kazooie so it really depends. Once again, meh to Infamous. I really don't think it'll be that good. Etc. etc and so forth.
HIGHER QUALITY?!?!?!?! WHAT??!?!?! You cannot just make a statement like that given past history, man. We're talking about a series that consistently gets 9s. EVERY SINGLE ONE (except that BS FF X2). Come on, playboy. The engine in FF makes that s**t look CG and they got all the old boys workin' on it (Tetsuya Nomura, the character designer from 7 and the combat system technician from XII). Moreover, Infamous made a big splash at E3. Sucker Punch is awesome, meng!
By the way, I don't see how you can say that the PS2 had no competitors. Weren't Nintendo and Microsoft around? I mean, the Xbox sold less than the Sega Genesis but it was...trying to be competitive though, right?
Edit: Xtro, I'm known for asinine statements? Oh dear.
