Cosmo's a new character.

Preview: Guardians of the Galaxy #19

THE STORY:
Will Kang Conquer the Guardians? Rocked by the aftershocks of War of Kings, Star-Lord’s team – now castaways across shattered timelines – are desperate to find a route home before all possible futures fuse into one dark nightmare! Guest-starring the original Guardians of the Galaxy (sort of) and the infamous time-traveling despot who may be their only hope! Yes, it’s more sci-fi shenanigans from the book that has ComicBookResources.com raving, “Abnett and Lanning do an amazing job of delivering a quick-moving, jam-packed, high-octane, bombastic epic.” Rated T …$2.99

Indeed, a lot of tragic death. Good, epic issue, though.

It's funny, I was expecting all the deaths to be reversed somehow in typical comic book fashion....then then issue ended. The team needed some thinning out but damn :(

nah, I really thought it sucked.

Very Rushed issue, a poor product IMO.

It's the first utterly disapointing issue in the series.

I actually like when main characters die....but simply poor execution.

Moondragons final speech made me want to puke. "trust us everything blew up.." was so lame.

I'm not worried as much with the deaths...except for Cosmo. As all the characters could easily be brought back...

If Mantis can be brought back, I assume Cosmo could too.

Yeah I'm not really expecting any of those deaths to stick. Maybe Vance...he's not from the "main" timeline anyway and they could always reach into the future for another him if they want to. If not, give his shield to Jack Flag. Seems appropriate.

Yeah...come to think of it, it would be a good idea for Jack Flag to get his shield. He's been handled very well. Who would have ever imagined a D-List CAPTAIN AMERICA hanger-on from the mid 90's being plucked from being crippled in THUNDERBOLTS to become a regular on a space team book, and that it'd actually be handled great?

I do hope some of those Guardians come back...heck, Moondragon did.

I think they'll all be brought back. Remember Jack Flagg's "destiny" as spoken by Starhawk?

I wonder if that means Jack will have to trade his life for theirs. I hope not; he's been a fun character.

I kind of wish Mantis would start referring to herself as "this one" again. That was funny. :)

I haven't bought the book yet...haven't had the time. I was told he died. I'm now glad he lied.

Then was it a lie that Gamora is dead also?

Gamora, Cosmo, Mantis, Major Victory, Phyla, and Adam/Magus die, as I recall. I don't have the issue for reference, though, so I might be forgetting someone.
Giffen's input. Along with Groot saying more than "I am Groot".
Wait, Giffen got rid of it or Giffen still had her saying it before DnA? I don't remember.

Mantis and Cosmo can't stay dead. The rest I could live without, although I'd like Vance back too. But Mantis and Cosmo have to live to teep again. :csad:

Aw. I miss it. That and the Groot thing are the only complaints I have with DnA's take on the characters. :csad:
