I'm still thinking everyone comes back and it's all undone.

Seeing you know who on that upcoming cover would lend to confirm this.

There is also the matter of the other cocoon..which according to Moondragons lame comments that all the church ships blew up would be a canidate from being destroyed de facto off panel...doubt it though.

Anyway seeing as how we know the rift is still not done with and realm of kings and all..i expect more....

I just wished that this had been a few pages longer....a little more explanation and description. It didnt appear that they brought the bodies back with them and just left them to "blow up" on the ship. A character like Drax would have grabbed that shield too. Maybe it went sailing off into space or somthing though.

I also wish Kang's appearance had been a bit more forshadowed. It almost seemed like the "Bendis Syndrome" of having a super powerful character appear from nowhere to resolve the conflict, a bit different then Bendis usually does it, but similiar.

A REALM OF KINGS story! The Guardians have been to hell and back on a desperate quest to save the past, present and future of the universe itself. But after their monumental efforts and terrible sacrifice, could it be that—due to the end of WAR OF KINGS and the creation of The Fault—the universe is an even more dangerous place than before…and they just don’t realize it yet? Yes, it’s time to shake up the team line-up again in the book that Newsarama’s Best Shots calls “Marvel’s most enjoyable team book…There’s a tremendous amount of action punctuated by some terrific humor and character development.”

Whoa, Bug sans helmet. You know, as much as it sucked losing so many good characters so quickly, I could probably deal with them staying dead and this becoming the permanent team.

Should be interesting to see how that goes down. We seem to be entering the era of the classic cosmic villains for GotG. We've already seen the Magus, Moondragon seems to be going evil again because of the baby, Magus is coming back in February, the Universal Church of Truth's cocoon is hatching in March and will probably be someone familiar, and now Thanos is back in April.

Actually, come to think of it, Thanos will probably return by hatching out of the UCT's cocoon. Losing his heart did seem like something he could recover from to a lot of us back in Annihilation.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Magus Rising

The Guardians of the Galaxy thought they'd seen the last of the Magus-Adam Warlock's evil future self-but they'll soon find out how wrong they were.
In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #23 on February 17, writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning along with artist Wes Craig reveal how the Magus escaped his seemingly fatal encounter with Star-Lord and the rest of his team.

"He tricked everyone," declares Abnett. "Is there anything about the Magus that suggests he's even slightly trustworthy? He's a cosmic-powered trickster of the first magnitude, and he will do anything he has to [in order to] win, including faking his own death!"

While Abnett and Lanning made it appear as if the Magus' storyline came to a close with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #19, they chose to employ a different narrative structure with the villain's plotline for a number of reasons.

"Because it's unusual," explains Lanning. "We like to tell unconventionalstories when we can, or stories that shock or twist in surprising ways, and it occurred to us this would be very unusual: our heroes and our readers think something's done and over with, and it's not at all. In fact, it's got worse. No neat endings, [just] like real life."
Magus' reappearance will have great repercussions for the ongoing story of the Fault, a rip in space in time that has opened the Marvel Universe to attack from a cancerous dimension at the other end."[The Magus is involved] in every way," promises Abnett. "Warlock became Magus stopping the Fault from swallowing the Marvel Universe. Now the Magus is going to use the Fault for his own ends. He is a bad, bad man."

As to what those ends consist of, Lanning couldn't reveal too much.
"We're going to have to wait and see, but it's not going to be good," he suggests. "The fact that he's the head of the Universal Church of Truth may be a clue; intergalactic domination and subjugation of all species to his evil will anybody?"
What-if anything-have the Guardians learned from their first fight with Magus that they'll be relying on in this confrontation? Given Magus' incredible power levels, they will have their work cut out for them when they have to face him once again, though this time Abnett jokingly suggests they should "check the body and confirm the kill."

Holy crap, can't wait to see Thanos back.

I've been thinking of picking up the Infinity War/Crusade trades to get a bit more background on Magus. Are they worth it?

I don't recall The Infinity War being all that memorable, but it was kind of fun. The Infinity Crusade was kind of crappy, as I recall.

Annihilus is coming back too, here's hoping he's on galactic levels not just "rofl lets pester the Fantastic Four".

Get it, pester? Cause he's a bug?

Haw.

I wouldn't mind if Annihilus sticks to the FF's corner for the next few months, though. Thanos and the Magus are pretty huge deals, so the Guardians have no shortage of great enemies. Maybe by fall we can get Annihilus to move back over to the cosmic comics.

The way I see it, with the Cancerverse and all hell breaking loose, Thanos is going to, begrudgingly, help the Guardians.

That's entirely possible. Thanos does everything for his own reasons and isn't averse to helping people out if it suits him.

I'll have a flick through them at my lcs, but I think i'll take the opportunity to finally get A: Conquest instead then.

Literally the only thing I remember from The Infinity War is the evil doppelgangers of heroes, which my very young brain processed as immensely cool. Especially the New Warriors tie-in where Speedball and Rage fight their doppelgangers together.

They had better bring Cosmo, Mantis, and Gamora back.

I will be one sad puppy if they don't. :(

Haha, "I'd flash you my business card, but my hands are too full of guns." This series is so great. :awesome:
