So news broke this week that the title of the fourth Avengers film is a spoiler. That could mean a lot of things; it could be the title of a specific comic book arc that follows The Infinity Gauntlet or another story involving Thanos, or it could reference something specific that happens in the Infinity War film. Maybe both. So what do you think it could be?

I'm sure this is being discussed in other threads but it seems like a good idea to devote a thread solely to this. What do you think?

Not a bad title, but I don't think that would be much of a spoiled. Avengers Disassembled would be more of one, don't ya think?

Yeah I know its not much in the spoiler section. I don't think Infinity Gauntlet would be either. We already expect Thanos to complete it.

Maybe Avengers: Death to All

Avengers: New Beginning

Or something like that...

If Thanos really just shows up in Avengers 3, then Avengers 4 will be something new...

But i still think, that Thanos will also be in Avengers 4 and it will be "Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet" - and the spoiler would be, that Thanos is still alive and reaches his gool in Avengers 3.

They are ALL back for Avengers 4 - Thor, Iron Man, Captain America etc. ...

And we will have a Doctor Strange 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3... Black Panther is new, Captain Marvel will appear...

There is so much to do for Thanos before he even has all the Stones - the "end battle" will be around 30 Minutes... do not think, that they can complete this in just one movie! (and they should not too)

It has to be Secret Wars. If the title is a spoiler in itself it has to be based on a well known comic book arc. Plus it further sets up Marvels cosmic universe and I can see ways for it to organically follow Infinity War while being a separate story and featuring Thanos.

Plus, what a way for RDJ to say goodbye to the character. Who would have thought after Iron Man first came out that we would see the same character in Civil War, Infinity War and now (maybe) Secret Wars.

It's gonna be New Avengers. Spoiler, there's going to be a new line-up of Avengers!

A lot of people think a lot of the original Avengers will be dying in Avengers 3/4. If this was early 2000s, I would agree but now we've seen what can be done with someone like Jackman. 17 years. RDJ, Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Evans (the core four)...these guys are all Jackman caliber and we're just getting started.

Maybe maybe maybe one of those four will be killed off but I highly doubt it. Definetly not more than one. Of all the original Avengers, Renner is the most likely IMO, cause 1) he's been around from early on, 2) it would really hurt because we've met his family and 3) he doesn't have big budget superpowers. It also 4) helps that he's had a well-received replacement in Kate Bishop, although I wouldn't expect her to show up for quite awhile after he goes. Of the other possible casualties, I actually think newcomers like Vision or Scarlet Witch are more likely to go, because they are so powerful that it makes it difficult to write a good story involving them.

Anyway, the point is I don't think it's going to be New Avengers cause I don't think the lineup will be all that different from the original. Just the 2012 team plus a lot more members minus Hawkeye maybe.

Unless...the core four leave the Avengers and we continute their stories in seperate films, maybe teamup style like Thor Ragnorok. In that case, the New Avengers lineup could be different enough from the original for the title to make sense. But I doubt this as well. Disney is wise enough to know that the reason these films hit 1.5 billion is that audiences expect to see Iron Man, Cap, Hulk and Thor.

I think Cap might die. Just like in Age of Ultron, Barton dying is too obvious. RDJ should go on to direct SHIELD with Hill. RDJ can give Bucky or Falcon a speech, "The world needs Captain America" handing him the shield (preferably Bucky). And I wouldn't buy it if Hulk or Thor "died."

Vision is the only other candidate, but it would once again be temporary. If Vision dies, it's only until they get the mind stone back. I think Nebula will die trying to deliver a killing strike to Thanos. So if I had to guess:

Avengers 3 - Vision and Nebula die.
Avengers 4 - Cap dies and Vision is brought back to life.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

either
Avengers: Thanos Imperative
OR
Avengers: Annihilation
OR
Avengers: Thanos Rising
OR
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet

I'm not sure in this case. We were told Avengers 4's title is a spoiler. I'm still not seeing how Infinity Gauntlet is a spoiler.

It implies Thanos is still alive and assembles all the stones in by the end of Infinity War, I agree that Zoe spoiled it.

Gunn also said the leaks were all lies and 95% of the leaks have come true.

What leaks? I've also found him to generally be on the level. People kept accusing him to lie to protect spoilers when he kept saying certain characters would not be in his Guardians movies, and he turned out to be truthful.

As for him getting the gems being a spoiler, I mean, this was the new footage in the first teaser announcing the movie:

And even if we're going off the idea they don't want to spoil it for casual fans who aren't familiar with the comics (which normally would have some truth to it), I doubt the term Infinity Gauntlet means anything to them if they haven't read the story anyway.

Gunn has never lied. Everything he has said regarding the MCU has been true.

By that logic what possible title could spoil it then?

Avengers: We're all dead...I mean really? And that image doesn't mean anything, it's a promotional teaser, it might show up in the movie but it might equally never show up in the movie too.
I think we all expected Thanos to get all the stones but I think most were expecting him to get the stones right at the start of Infinity War, casual fans aren't stupid. I predict that Infinity War will end with Thanos "losing" and the Avengers living happily ever after only to find out in Infinity Gauntlet it was all a reality altered illusion by Thanos who now has all the Stones, they are probably trying to hide a twist like that, thus Infinity Gauntlet.
