Guillermo del Toro's The Strain coming to FX - Part 1

Well at least they found a way to get rid of the kid for the time being.

Can't wait to see what the finale brings, overall I've enjoyed this season, step up from S1.

I see nothing but a bloodbath when that auction goes down next week. Both sides have a double cross on their asses.

I'm done with Dutch. I hope Fet is too.

Nice seeing Jim again. Eph's hair piece in those flashback scenes, especially in 2005, were god awful.

Awesome seeing Gus again. Bet he's glad Angel stuck around.

Dutch really screwed up there and the whole thing with the Lumen can only end in a blood bath. There is no way that auction will be anything close to peaceful.

And so glad they are writing the kid out of the show.

So its official the kid is being written out of the show?

I hope so. They are certainly pointing in that direction.

good... the little brat only served to b**ch and whine and complain about Mommy Dearest... good riddance to the little s**t...

I won't rejoice just yet. The kid plays a big part in the books so we might not be that lucky... :p

I haven't read the books but from what I have read here there was no Dutch in the books either... depending on how important the kid is they might be able to either write him off or shift his part to someone less annoying.

I could see how they'd bring this grandparents plot into the big finale in the books. Maybe they'll recast in Season 3 and at least get a kid that doesn't annoy me as bad as that little ****.

Fet NOW PLEASE leave dutch alone...she's all messed up

The kid has to die.

That was a very annoying surprise. :( I did NOT expect and I certainly did NOT want that to happen either. :argh:

Here's the producers talking about it:

I'm not one of those that complains about every character death ever but this one annoys me because it's the perfect example of a female character killed just so the lead male character can be all ~angsty~ and have some "development".

The only good news is that it looks like (book spoilers)[blackout]Setrakian's death[/blackout] is off the books for now.

Quinlan continues to be a boss. Gus too. :hrt:

Doesn't [BLACKOUT]Nora[/BLACKOUT] make it further in the books and hook up with [BLACKOUT]Fett[/BLACKOUT], or am I misremembering? I recall something like that being mentioned in here.

Yes.

She's survives all the way to the end along with Fet. Eph, Zach, and Abraham all died.

Zach just needs to get off my tv screen. Go up stairs and never be seen again!

I'm really tired of Eichhorst slithering away.

Oh and Coco...

Especially with a show that is male heavy, killing off one of two kickass female characters is just not the way to go, especially when it becomes about setting up the male character.

Good lord I did not see that deviation coming.

Quinlan continues to be awesome. Can't wait to see what they do with his arc in season 3.

I don't even root for The Master but [blackout]seeing him kill Coco and Palmer crying[/blackout] was so delicous to see.

Makes me feel better about not having read the books, if they're going to change up a bunch of things.

When the Quinlan & Gus duo show up :jd:

It's time for the kid to go. Not a good night for the females :csad:

Up until now I figured they were just expanding on stuff in the books to pad everything out for the 5 season plan, but yeah this was a big big change. It'll be interesting to see how things progress now, by the time we get to the events of the 3rd novel this will be felt pretty keenly.

I get wanting your mommy. We all know what that feels like. But a kid at that age is not going to embrace a worm infested monster with a ten foot spiked tongue. I don't care how much she sounds like mommy. It just isn't going to happen. So it's not just stupid. It's forced and makes Zack seem like his parents used him as a kickball when he was a newborn. Brain damage is the only explanation for his behavior.

They even had an entire episode dedicated to Eph showing his son that his mother was gone, dead, not the same woman he knew. He is old enough to understand what is happening in New York City and has seen these monsters, not to mention he just saw her kill a woman that his basically been his surrogate mother this entire time and he seems perfectly fine that she is injured is just rage inducing.

Nora shouldn't have hesitated and just chopped off her head. The bad guys didn't really take any huge blows and this should've been one of them especially when we've been doing it all season long.
