It's a live version of a Disney animated movie about a fictional Arabian city and a boy who finds a genie in a lamp. I don't get why people have to nitpick about authenticity in a movie which features a taking parrot and flying carpets.

Some people don't buy him as Aladdin. What's so hard to get about that?

They don't buy him as Aladdin based on what? A three second clip of him reaching for a lamp? I have no problem if people don't buy him as Aladdin after watching the movie, but I don't understand why people have to be so negative all the time. It's tiring.

I think we should at least hear the poor guy speak before deciding he's not right for the part. I think back to when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker and there was disbelief and uproar. Then look what happened... he set the bar when it comes to movie villains.

I trust that he was hired for a reason. I doubt his audition was three seconds long with no dialogue.

You also seem to think that people who weren't impressed with the teaser already condemned the entire film. When it's only what they think at the moment about what was shown.

I think Leto's appearance with the costume and the horrendous tattoos and mouth grill said a lot more than what we're seeing here. I still gave it a chance and sat through Suicide Squad though! (God, he was awful)

People are absolutely entitled to make a judgement based on a 3 second clip and I'm absolutely entitled not to understand that (because I just wouldn't do that myself)

However it the trailer comes out and you change your tune, I may point out how it's better to wait and see more than a few seconds before being negative ;-)
