Sci-Fi Lilo & Stitch-The Live Action Remake

Yeah, Disney isn't stopping the live action remakes at all. Snow White was never going to be as popular as Lilo and Stitch and the live action Moana next year will be a box office juggernaut too.

The Snow White brand was just too archaic for current day audiences. Even the most ‘perfect’ version of that story is never touching Lilo & Stitch (Snow White and the Huntsman didn’t do it either), who did nothing but get more relevant over the past 20+ years.

I truly believe that as a millennial, my generation was the last to truly care at all about Snow White because 1993 was the last time it had a theatrical rerelease and the first time it was released on VHS a year later was a big deal. It already felt obsolete back then against the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid but three decades and two Frozens, two Moanas, one Encanto, one Tangled, etc. later and there's just no contest.

Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen and Encanto here we come!

I don't see any of the remaining 2000s movies getting a remake.

Is this movie actually good?

It's not bad. . . . It's not the #1 remake, but its really watchable, and I'd put it in the top 5.

If you're looking for a shot for shot remake this isn't it. They utilize a lot from the cartoon, but also cut and change a lot too. Some of the changes are good. I liked the social worker, and neighbor. Nani's story is more compelling. Some of the changes I thought were unnecessary or could have been handled better. Looking mostly at Cobra Bubbles, Jumba, and Gantu on that statement. David Ogden Stiers voice as Jumba is really missed. The opening also felt a little rushed. The climax and ending are a little different. The end itself wasn't bad though.

Overall though this one isn't going to "ruin your childhood".

I think I'm going to need another watch on D+ before I can fully embrace it though.

just saw it with my niece and her friend we really loved it, easily my fave of the live action remakes of animated films. I loved seeing Tia and Jason show up in the new movie.
