Fantasy Guy Ritchie Directing Disney's Aladdin

That was everything I wanted out of teaser trailer! Very reminiscent of the BATB teaser, which is great! Aladdin was my favorite Disney movie as a kid, so I'm super stoked for this!

Can someone please give me a 1080p HD download link of Aladdin Trailer?

So Jafar is hot.

I can already hear people saying "girl, why you turning him down?" if they keep that classic scene towards the end when he has her in chains.

Wow, Disney.

They can just retcon history and say Jafar discovered South America and "all he got was this lousy parrot".
Lol that would be funny, but let's be real, we're not owed any explanation. It's a movie about magic lamps and genies and sorcerers, no one cares about the inaccurate parrot. No one but me, of course. :o

Yeah, Elliot and Rossio are veterans of classic comedic Disney dialouge. They wrote the first three POTC flicks and a couple other animated ones for Disney.

Man. That's it? Currently I have my doubts on Will Smith playing a zany genie... unless the forgo the crazy genie shtick and let Will Smith play Fresh Prince genie.

Of course, I am ready to be proven wrong once we see him on the next trailer.

It's funny, Numan Acar is playing Jafar's henchman when he looks more like Jafar than the guy playing Jafar.

It's a well done teaser, but it's the most Disney thing ever. Here are all the things you recognize. It's the music! It's the cave of wonders! Iago flying! The lamp! That line! I at least liked the shot of Iago flying. More because it was a nice shot and not because I recognized Iago.

The outside of the cave is pretty lackluster looking. For God's sake if you're going to re-create the imagery you'd think you'd recreate the wonderful imagery from the original movie. It's a change, but a tangible change that is nowhere near as good.

Some cool sweeping shots with beefed up versions of music I sort of recognize from the time my brother's class did a kids' version of the Broadway show. I've only watched the cartoon movie once a long time ago and I remember not paying attention about 2/3 through, so color me mildly intrigued. This might be a Jungle Book thing for me, where I didn't really know about the cartoon Disney story and found the remake more effective.

miss the days when the Middle East looked exotic and mysterious instead of scary all the time

I remember watching the Honest Trailers covering this and they pointed out the "Allahu akbar!"/"Praise Allah!" line in the beginning. I wonder if Disney had the guts to keep it this time around.

i loved the teaser.... gave me a taste and left me wanting more, i was hoping to see genie and jasmine
but i cannot deny i clapped/barked like a happy seal when iago showed up, i was worried when the rumor was he was cut

what has he done lately? I know I seen him recently in something can't remember
Oh just remembered wasn't he Roberto Duran a couple of years ago?

To be fair, is this only a Disney thing or all studios thing? I don’t think the writer ever gets compensated for a remake.

That's the one sort of criticism that I've heard of the teaser so far, as well as the one explanation being that some things in animation just don't or won't translate well to live-action, even if this is from Disney.

It kinda reminds me of the Rock of Ages from Return to Oz, I dig it.

I think Lion King is gonna suffer from that too.

Not much to go on with that teaser, although it beats the Cinderella teaser that was a shoe.

He was the Taliban commander Razzan in 12 Strong.

I wish people were talking about other things than how the cave looks.

It appeals directly based on what you know and remember. This movie isn't going to do anything new except for tangible details that will smooth over what idiots online nitpick over as "flaws" and be sure to be modern. I'm betting money that the new character for the tiger will be a modern character who will say modern things and people online will just fawn over it.

Is it just me or does the population not really talk about these remakes like the original films? I don't think these films have endured. Mainly because it's a reheat of what we've already seen and it's disposable. You see it, aren't disappointed and go home and have dinner. It's like a watching a procedural television show. You know what you're going to get.

Gee, it's as if Disney has been doing this the whole time. :o:

Out of curiosity, have you watched Lindsay Ellis' takedown of the Beauty and the Beast remake? You'd probably enjoy it.

Yes! She hit the nail on the head. Someone finally articulated what's wrong with all these remakes.
