Fantasy Guy Ritchie Directing Disney's Aladdin

He looks so weird. Just so freaking weird.

Why couldn't they just paint him blue? Why did they need to CGI his face? This is the second time Will Smith's has played a CG character that borders on nightmare fuel (*cough* Shark Tale *cough*).
Same reason Sam Rami didn't paint Willem Dafoe green, he didn't need any mask to look GG. :o

Because CGI is easy and they don't have to put in the effort to pull something off realistically. It's like if anyone but Wan directed Aquaman, they would've CGId everything instead of making majority of the characters out of actual makeup and prosthetics. It's a lost art.

What characters in Aquaman were made out of makeup and prosthetics? Willem Dafoe and Temuera Morrison had bad CGI de-aging effects and most non-human stuff was CGI.

The Fisherman King and his family were made with prosthetics for the most part. Black Manta was also done practically.

De-aging stuff was OK in some scenes and looked bad in some other. As for prosthetic and makeup use

I think it's also very concerning we haven't seen anyone act yet other than Jafar and Genie

That's always a red flag for me. When they don't show the personality of a lot of characters.

I know we still haven't gotten a theatrical trailer, but still even in the photos, Aladdin and Jasmine haven't shown to be charismatic at all when they were in the original

Disney should be thankful that Will Smith's genie has distracted everyone from the bad background CGI and actor playing Jafar.

There’s Nolan, but he would not have agreed to work on Aquaman.

Fisherman Princess ain't half bad.

:o

Well, I hope this trailer does at least make more people realize why it's a good thing that the new Mulan won't be a faithful remake of the original movie.

Yep, the blue man could turn out fine. Remember how everyone freaked in a bad way about Avatar’s first teaser?

Jafar is a bigger problem. Actor appears similar age to Aladdin wih a whiney voice. Bad casting. Can’t fix it.

We've seen 2 teaser trailers. Both that barely show anything. Not like they released full on trailers.

I think all 4 major characters are miscast. They will probably embargo critic reviews until the movie’s release day in theaters, but we will find out soon enough.

I can't say if they were miscast because we haven't really seen anything.
I think Will Smith isn't a bad choice for Genie at all. He just looks weird.

I haven't seen any of the other actors in anything else

I honestly didn't even realise it was Jafar at first.

If he doesn't utter the words "Yes!! Esalalumbo, shimin dumbo!" im not gonna be happy:funny:

You know... they never needed to show you Robin Williams face for everyone to know he was Genie. Here, Will Smith was already bad casting. But they somehow made it worse.

He looks how I imagine Leto II would look if they ever adapted God Emperor for the big screen. :funny:
Why would they? It's a animated cartoon...

Oh wow. I am not liking what I seeing at all. While Genie looks horrendous, I’m more concerned about all the evironments. They all look awful and there’s no style to it at all. Maybe a full trailer will sell me, but I’m not too optimistic about it.

Any screen shots of Princess Jasmine from the trailer?
