'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

Nope, only 2. He confirmed that in an interview recently. Can't remember which one, there's so many. But Tyler did say he'd be down for it, depending on the new director and where it goes. Scout has said the same.

I definately like seeing Mane as Myers.

all i can picture is the blob going over someone and going

"*****, how u like that **** you penguin**** mother****er"

Xp i'd go see it i guess :hehe:
All I can say is whatever.:whatever:

The people around here are just so I don't know. I guess if their names isn't Chris Nolan, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino or some other fanboy directors everyone else sucks.

That same tired crap everyone gets tired after awhile. And I know I'm gonna get yelled at by the mods but whatever, I just guess its okay to do it in some threads cause of the director and not in others.

He's definitely a good Michael. I'd like him more if he didn't look exactly like Rob Zombie when he isn't wearing the mask though.

Just got back from the theater.

I read the reviews, and went in expecting to absolutely hate this...

I dont.

Lets start with the bad:

I am SO bored with Zombie's concept that every person on earth is an immoral, inbred, trailer trash hick. I want to fear for the lives of the people in horror films. I want to care about them, even though most of them will be one dimensional. Almost every character in his films are interchangeable with the rest, and I'm perfectly fine with them being killed.

His wife is not a good actress, and is not nearly hot enough to make her screen time worthwhile.

Call me a psychopath, but I have grown to want disgusting, brutal, creative kills in my slasher films...as they are about shock more than anything. These kills were all very basic stabby stab stab.

The eye candy. Part of the appeal of slasher films are watching ridiculously hot girls get naked and butchered. The eye candy in the film simply wasnt up to par.

The good:

I have always wanted to see a movie where Jason killed all the campers, and then went back to doing whatever he does the rest of the year. This movie shows what the horror movie killer is doing in his down time, and I liked it. If you prefer to think that the killer just goes comatose for no reason until the next film, then...good for you.

The end. I keep hearing Halloween purists complain about the ending...yet those people must not have paid very close attention to the original series, as this mirrors it perfectly and was brave enough to fully go where the first series tried but didnt have the guts to follow.

The story. This is not a stand alone film. It all but requires you to have seen the first film. This is nothing new, as the original Halloween 2 is essentially an extension of part 1. Why would there be a great story??? The story was part 1, and this is a continuation of that, not a new tale.

On the fence:

The link between Mikey and Laurie. It gives an explanation to how he so easily finds her. I didnt like her seeing the same visions he did...but at least it gave some explanation. Then again, I actually like the cult angle frm the original series, so clearly I will accept any rationale behind the action.

So,

This is not a "good" movie. I get the feeling that the ideas Zombie was reaching for needed more time to be fully grasped. However, I got where he was heading well enough...

Or maybe...just..maaaaybe...they didnt like the movie.

Hard to believe..I know.

I won't yell at you...

But I will say that the dialogue in Zombie's movies could be kicked up a level. He doesn't need to keep everything trash.

He's definitely a good Michael. I'd like him more if he didn't look exactly like Rob Zombie when he isn't wearing the mask though.
Well hes just basically walking around for two years without shaving or cutting his hair. So it might look a little wildman like.

'Not sure if it's been discussed yet, and I don't really want to search the thread to see, but Halloween 3D is in the works. And it's confirmed that Zombie won't be involved, but rather a different director with a "different take". I'm kind of hoping it's yet another reboot. But I also think it's too soon to have a reboot as this film is either due out in 2010 or production is going to begin in 2010. I don't want folks to get sick of Myers just yet.

Also, QT, Nolan, everyone gets trashed all the time. The reason why Zombie gets trashed more is because his movies arent that good. You can like them, but they arent well made films at all. (Save for Rejects) People trash Nolan for his inability to film a coherent fight scene, QT for his long sequences of dialouge that people call "QT jacking off to his own words".

I dont know why you defend Zombie to the T, he isnt that amazing. I love Michael Bay, and his movies...but I know he's not a great filmmaker. He makes kickass action movies. And I love him for that...but i'd never call a Bay film "Great cinema".

That's the problem that alot of people have. (Myself included.)

some people just don't get jokes/sarcasm :whatever:
there is ALOT of profanities in the first rz halloween, i wasn't taking a shot at zombie personally, or his directing abilities :o

and in actual fact i like rob zombie as a director/musician
I actually liked what he did with the first half of halloween, the second half fell flat atleast imo

I haven't seen halloween 2 yet, as its not out yet here.. so i can't comment on it

I saw the ending...and theres a freaking white horse in it. I almost laughed. I just walked in during the last 10 minutes. I've never seen a more redonkulous movie ending in my life.

The White Horse is a thread throughout the movie, not just the ending.

Aptow man...you know me, I've been in this thread defending Zombie left and right to the point that I got tired of being the guy in here getting stupid 'marks' added to me for defending my views. Think I'm really bashing Zombie? I love KISS but I'm all for a bashful KISS joke here and there.

I've found it that if you can't laugh at the things you like, then you can't fully grasp what it is you're liking. I love Zombie's films, and H2 is what I expect from Zombie...my only real complaint is it didn't evolve (in fact....MICHAEL WAS SUPPOSE TO EVOLVE according to Loomis in the trailers...what happened there?) in his direction. But all that aside, I enjoyed H2 and what Zombie did...it just became very repeative...literally...how many times does Michael have to stab someone to be statisfied?

Making fun of Zombie at this point...it depends on the intent of it. I'm making fun because I like Zombie's film and what he does..but I also understand that maybe Zombie is stuck in a rut. I won't bash his dialouge, because at points, he writes some stuff that sticks and makes you think....but other stuff is just curse words thrown out randomly to make a sentence.

I will look forward to his next film, and the film after that, and his new album, and the tour which I will definatly be in attendance for....but H2 just fell a bit flat for me. It had great moments, but it doesn't WOW me like his previous films. I saw no real growth as a director. My opinion of course.

I won't yell at you...

Well sometimes thats how some people talk in real life. especially when mad. yesterday the bus went past me and I was yelling and waving at it to stop and it didn't and every other word out of my mouth was the f word and other obscenitys for a few minutes until i finally calmed down.

**** HATER! You go die! YOU CANNOT SAY BAD THINGS IN THIS THREAD! I'm so sick of people having an opinion other then THIS MOVIE RULES!

I saw the ending...and theres a freaking white horse in it. I almost laughed. I just walked in during the last 10 minutes. I've never seen a more redonkulous movie ending in my life.

I walked into the theater to catch the last few minutes of Se7en...and they're screaming and yelling abut a box! A freaking box??? Thats redonkulous!

I also walked into the theater to catch the last few minutes of Citizen Kane...and it was showing them burining some stupid sled, like Im supposed to care about that! Totally redonkulous.

Not that this film is either of those two...but the point is...context is everything.

They said its suppose to be out by 2010. and someone said its gonna continue with RZ's films

But still....a horse? A horse....

A HORSE....c'mon....

I know what the context was, I read the spoilers....but wow.

The White Horse is a thread throughout the movie, not just the ending.

I've said it many times before already, but that WHITE HORSE was awesome.

I don't understand how you guys don't 'get it'. It's symbolism. It's in a dream. It's not real. It doesn't have to make a lot of sense. It's weird. I'd understand all the hate if Michael jumped on the horse and road away like Zorro..but he didn't. haha

The horse is there because Michael is seeing his dead mother in his mind, he's remembering the white horse she gave him, the horse also carries the belief that his mothers soul/memory is still being carried with him. It's symbolic. Is it weird and does it fit into HALLOWEEN? NO NO NO IT DOESN'T.....But are we talking about the origianal series here? NO NO NO NO WE'RE NOT.
