Sorry guys for starting this thread but I just heard the funniest thing. I am watching the making of Batman 89 on youtube, and one of the producers actually said, they wanted to have BILL MURRAY play Batman, prior to watching Keaton's performance in Beetlejuice. Hahahahahahaha.

your causing quite a ruckus there, kid...

Why is this in the spoiler forum...

Bill Murray was up for the role when Joe Dante was supposed to direct it, or maybe Spielberg.

again this is NOT the right place for this... there is a thread for the other batman films...

Ivan Reitman doing a spoof 60s styled Batman I believe. Wasn't even Eddie Murphy up for that, I know that he was up for Green Lantern...christ,and not even John Stewart..he was up for Hal Jordan..

And yeah, this is the wrong section. Nothing to do with The Dark Knight,or spoilers about The Dark Knight.

That makes a lot more sense. It was a terrible idea on all accounts, but it makes more sense that way.

yea. And only Jon Peters says its cause of Beetlejuice that they choose Keaton. Everyone else claims that it was his performance in Clean and Sober.

Jon Peters is ******ed, so I doubt his word is golden.

I only believe it because Sam Hamm backs it up.

Yeah, from what I understand Murphy was up for Robin. I don't believe the belief in WB's retreading the 1960's Adam West Tv show ended until the first teaser hit theaters. Then everyone finally, "Got It" as far as what Burton's direction was going for. Despite alot of shows at the time still using the old; "Biff!", "Pow!", "Kaplunk!" signs when referring to anything related to a comic book. :o

I watched that documentary and when they said Bill Murray was one of the choices I had terrible mental images.

Funny that you make this thread but thats what people said about Keaton in 89...
