Sorry guys for starting this thread but I just heard the funniest thing. I am watching the making of Batman 89 on youtube, and one of the producers actually said, they wanted to have BILL MURRAY play Batman, prior to watching Keaton's performance in Beetlejuice. Hahahahahahaha.

That makes a lot more sense. It was a terrible idea on all accounts, but it makes more sense that way.

Yeah, from what I understand Murphy was up for Robin. I don't believe the belief in WB's retreading the 1960's Adam West Tv show ended until the first teaser hit theaters. Then everyone finally, "Got It" as far as what Burton's direction was going for. Despite alot of shows at the time still using the old; "Biff!", "Pow!", "Kaplunk!" signs when referring to anything related to a comic book.
