Halloween III is a go?

But i found more than once Halloween III on lists of best sequels for daring to be different.

why cant some things just be let go? This franchise is done and and should be left alone. what else can you possibly talk about with myers? The remakes sucked beyond belief and the original sequels suck just as much. just let it go and move on, heres an idea why dont hollywood create a new serial killer who fans can get behind? and dont say they did with jigsaw because all he does is talk to his victums while there in traps.

It can't be left alone because despite how much the remake sucked, it made a pretty good chunk of money. It's, like a lot of the other slasher movies, are profitable and usually fairly cheap to make.

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash could work since we have a true protagonist but with mickael myers that´s a maibe, in least we would have something new, it could suck but in least would be a new way to suck

I liked RZ's remake. But H2 sucked. If someone wants to take on an H3 it'll be tough to match RZ's style and tone, which I thought was perfect, but his scripts are worth rewriting by someone other than him. However, I feel he probably directs more confidently with his own writing, so translating someone's script to screen probably takes his heart out of a project. I doubt he'll return but I just hope the studio can honor his tone and vision (for the most part) with a new director and writers for the next film.

I doubt Farmer and Lussier, if they're still attached to this pic, will keep the tone of RZ's films. Fine by me, I just want a good movie -- or at least an enjoyable one.

I'm in the minority that thought RZHII was one of the best entries in the series. That said it does not warrant a sequel in any way.

RZHII is worse than Halloween: Resurrection, Halloween 6, and Halloween 5 all rolled into one, which is quite a feat.

Agreed. It's probably my favorite one after the original.

RZ HII is worse then the original HIII which doesn't even have Michael Meyers in it...

lol

The worst sin Resurrection commited against the franchise was having Busta Rhymes save the day.

I'd rather have that than ghost moms, grunting hobo Michael, insane white trash Laurie, and a plotline that makes no sort of sense.

I´ll tell you all the truth, i only saw Halloween III, Halloween: resurecton and the remake, and ressurection was insopportable to watch because of that damn camera, i can´t imagine something worse.
Here in Portugal these were all that i could find, right now the only dvd available is that of the remake and the sequel is not available too, it didn´t make enough success to even go to the theatre here.

Pfft nothing is worse then Resurrection, at least RZH2 didn't have Michael getting karate chopped and beaten up by a rapper.

No, the worst sin was Tyra Banks being anywhere near a Halloween film..........

I think Jackasscoley15 said it best in the H2 thread:

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

And to add a little touch of my own:

(Gotta love those badly translated Chinese bootlegs)

True. But then again, how many of us haven't fantasized about stringing her up by the neck and watching her kick?

Apparently, Platinum Dunes will be producing the next Halloween film for Dimension Films. Bloody Disgusting and ShockTillYouDrop say it's not an April Fool's joke, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt until tomorrow.

If it's not an April Fool's joke, then it's certainly interesting news. I know die-hard Freddy and Jason fans slam the PD-produced remakes, but I thought they respected the source material better than Rob Zombie did with his so-called Halloween movies.

I'd be cool with it. The Friday the 13th remake is easily as good as pretty much all of the original series.
