How would you do Han***** story ? Mine is enough for 3 movies heh

He's a drunk hobo superhero, born on earth of earthly people. How did he get his powers? Noone cares. Anymore.

from what I saw in the trailer he makes a statement to the press about being the last of his kind....if I had to guess Id say he ended up on Earth due to something f'ed up happening to his planet...

didnt he say the only one of his kind. As in the only superhuman. Thats how I interpreted, but alien origin is also plausible

it looks like Peter Berg is moving up the Hollywood ladder at a good clip....he has some good films under his belt...

Since Hancock isn't based on an existing character/universe it gives the writers/directors more creative control. They can develop new villains/allies. That's why I think sequels would work.

It'd be hard for them to balance the sarcasm/humor with the action though...

Is their a shot in the trailer of the super-villain, it goes by to fast. Does anyone have the video on their comp, and are able to screen shot it?

Charlize Theron is the either the villain or another superhero.

Peter Berg is pretty good at getting a decent amount of humor in his films

but sequel wise (if their is one), he probably won't be coming back, since he's got Dune and what-not. It'll be hard for them to keep the tone of this one, without it becoming to comical or to drama...y

you know they can change the director. of cours only if they can get a good one. but come on guys you know very good that will smith will never allow a bad director.

Why can't Hancock's costume be more like the one in the comic? :cmad:

:hehe:

THE VILLAIN:

guess that guy was right.

the question for me is...after the movie hits, will it spawn a comic of its own?

I'd read it...

Any chance Bateman's character is the 'bad guy'? Think about it;
Hancock bangs his wife.
We find out that;
a) condom isn't superhero-proof
b) the, err, deed provides certain attributes, and
she gets superpowers

And the best thing that can happen to a superhero's agent? Your superhero saving the universe/world/city!!!

So, blackmail/trick/drug/pay
superCharlize
into attacking the city. Viola - huge publicity regardless of which way the fight goes...

Bateman = Bad, bad man (would this be a first, Bateman being the villian?)

Hey, just throwing it out there.

And I'm watching this - I just want to have fun when I watch movies, and this movie looks like it'll provide heaps!

From what I read

Charlize Theron and Bateman are the villains. As you said Bateman I guess suspects Theron and Will are messing around and truns on Hancock. That is at least what the review hinted.

I also think he meant he's the only super powered being. I don't think he's an alien.

The action/comedy mix seems to work well, I think it'll be a good movie.

He says "only one of my kind" which suggests that, on some level, he is specifically not human. Perhaps he was human at one time, perhaps not, but the bottom line is that he isn't anymore, or at least, isn't considered to be.

Think we'll get another poster, since this one has more of a 'teaser' poster look...

is it true that will smith had from 1995 until now every year a movie?

He has the world's largest signature. It can be seen from the moon sans atmospheric interference.

i thought it was revealed some time ago that hancock and charlize theron's characters were

immortal gods, who forgot who they were long ago, and lose there powers when they're near eachother

was that not true?

could that be a little too much for the casual audience to handle?

I just watched the "first look" again, and just realized something: When he was at that press conference where he declared that "he will be better," he also said: "Life here is difficult."

He said it in a tone that implies that he meant "life here on Earth," as opposed to "life here in L.A."

So what's Hancock's origin? How did he get his powers?

I just hope he isn't alien, because if so, it will be Superman rehash :(
