I watched this last night. Really had no expectations going in. IMO, I thought the movie was excellent! Will Smith does a good job of being the over-the-top superhero but a real human being at the same time.

I also thought the fight Smith had with the woman (name escapes me) was probably one of the best superhero on superhero fights you will ever see. I definitely see how they could make a sequel. We only got a taste of of where Smith came from and the problems that could be awaiting him in the future.

It indeed doesnt seem like we will be getting the extended, which again is a joke, we always get fobbed off with the poor deal over here.
Have you looked here?
That sucks for you guys. Over here in the states they are releasing the Two Disc unrated version for DVD and Blu Ray.
Yeah, it's too bad but it's not the end of the world. They'll release it eventually i hope.

BTW commercials are starting air on tv and like the one Terry described Charlize Theron gets credited but they also really spoil the plot twist by showing her character using superpowers.:o

Vfx crew member Shahen Jordan posted the following concept and matte painting from Hancock.Could this possibly be some kind of (unused) flashback scene?

i haven't seen the movie yet, but people who have always play the 'villains' down, for some odd reason. Or they can't explain their role.

Thinking in terms of Superman, they're villains that normally shouldn't be able to do **** to him, so that should give you some idea without spoiling it.

Ooopps, well, we are getting it, thanks Retro, you the man as always :yay:.

That art looks amazing, looks like a scene from the past, I hope we do get a sequel as I would really like to see them delve into this.

After watching the unrated version of the movie today, I feel they should have left certain scenes from the unrated version in the theatrical version, such as Hancock’s and Angel’s interaction at the house was a little better with the chemistry aspect, it’s like Angel actually wanted to kiss him too. The theatrical cuts this out to make that Hancock was the only one wanting to kiss. I also thought they could have left the unrated versions meeting at Hancock’s place. What I didn’t like about the unrated version was the incident at the bar with Hancock and groupie female, I am glad that got cut. I can clearly say I enjoyed theatrical cut more, but the movie could have been better if those scenes were left in.

Finally saw the movie today.

Very meh...not really interested in any sequels

I just saw it yesterday. Not a bad movie, but definitely takes a twist halfway through. Based on the plot I would be fine if there weren't any sequels, since the plot device they used was kinda done up. I liked how they vaguely explained where they came from, without giving any sort of real details.

Also, anyone get the vibe that they were supposed to be the eternal lovers condemned never to be with one another? I mean, that has a whole bunch of plot they could have gone into but only touched on in the film.

Weren't they supposed to be like a superhero version of Adam and Eve or something ? Anyway, to me the movie felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be and that's probably why they seemed to have a hard time marketing it, comedy ? Superhero Movie ? Parabole ?
Certainly not as good as I am legend or I, robot imo.

I purchased the Wal*Mart exclusive pack with the Hancock beanie. The beanie is nice quality. :p

Haven't watched the Unrated DVD yet, but enjoyed the theatrical film for the most part.

You're gonna wear the beanie now that it's getting cold, ain't ya?

Saw the Unrated Version on DVD today, and being a fan of the theatrical cut, I found the unrated version better in every way.

Hancock actually seemed a lot more sympathetic in this version, even in the scene were he sleeps with a groupie. The extra scene's with Mary also made the ending more impactful, and her being just as much at fault for the kiss also made more sense.

This greatlly improved on the theatrical version for me, and I actually would like to see a sequel. All of those drawings he did throughout the movie had to mean something didnt they?

So how much longer is it and would you rank the Unrated cut compared to the theatrical?

I was VERY disappointed in the Theatrical cut.

VERY.

Hmm, looking forward to the unrated version.

Saw this over the weekend. I was surprised by how much I liked it. I guess I wasn't expecting much, but I actually enjoyed this more than Hellboy 2, which I rented at the same time. (I still liked HB2 but I found the LOTR-mixed-with-Terminator villain plot a little uninspired.)

Easily the worst film I saw all summer.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's the worse summer movie I've seen in a number of years. And I've seen BOTH Fantastic Four films.

Just curious, what's with the "1 Disc Unrated Edition" title? Is that some sort of inside joke from the movie, I'm gonna probably watch it tomorrow night, but what's the '1 Disc' thing about, I've never seen that on a DVD. I used to joke with my friend how if I released a DVD, I'd title it "2 Disc Regular Edition" since everything these days is apparently 'Special" editions. :hehe:

Come on thats just wrong, although its your opinion but I find it hard to believe anyone likes any of the FF films better than this.
