Easily the worst film I saw all summer.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's the worse summer movie I've seen in a number of years. And I've seen BOTH Fantastic Four films.

Wow really!
Hancock wasn't a masterpiece by any means but it wasn't that bad :csad:

Ok, finally saw it last night for the first time...I didn't see it in the theater because so many people said it sucked.

THEY WERE WRONG.

This was a great flick!! I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Will Smith had me feeling very sympathetic towards Hancock and when he becomes a hero it feels great.

I can't believe people said it was confusing! there's nothing confusing at all about it.

People are wrong.

I just saw it today. Not as bad as people were making it out to be. It's a solid 7, nothing less, nothing more. I thought the Hancock/Mary fight was a lot bigger than what it actually was, but apart from that, the action was pretty cool.

Oh, and it was pretty funny in some parts, as well.

EDIT: Something that bugged me throughout the movie was how OBVIOUS they made it seem that Charlize has some connection with Hancock. From the first time we meet her, she's like subtly overreacting to Hancock. Not that I blame Theron, for that.

I blame Berg!

So how much longer is it and would you rank the Unrated cut compared to the theatrical?

I was VERY disappointed in the Theatrical cut.

VERY.

To me, the unrated cut actually makes a pretty big difference, although much isnt added, its subtle little stuff, but if you didnt like the theatrical cut, I couldnt honestly say you'd like this version either.

maybe also a deleted scene?

Possibly, but it is ONE of the things they could go into in the sequel, the whole significance of the Eagle, etc.

Come on thats just wrong, although its your opinion but I find it hard to believe anyone likes any of the FF films better than this.

For ONCE, you and I are in agreement SatEL, Hancock was miles better than both FF movies put together IMO.

Ghostpoet and I Am The Knight, I totally agree with you guys, I mean, I can see were some of the bad comments come from, but the movie has A LOT more strong-points than it does weak ones. I find myself enjoying the movie more and more the more I watch it, especially the Unrated version.

And GP, about that highlighted part, I thought that bit was superb too.

It's good to see the movie doing good on DVD. Hopefully we get another movie in the future. Speaking of Will I saw that new trailer for his new movie I think "7 Pound", from the trailer I do not think the film will be a commercial hit. I could be wrong though, if its anyone that can make nothing into something it's definitely Will Smith.

I think i'll go buy it this week. I can see myself watching it more than once. I'd give it an 8/10.

Did they say there may be a sequel? I thought I read that on here somewhere....

Hancock 2 should be a team-up movie, since the films are produced by sony/columbia they should have Spider-Man appear, since Hancock is based in New York now.. get Will and Tobey to sign on, and make it happen...

Marvel would never allow that... I mean that can't even remotely be a possibility... but why wouldn't I be suprised if it indeed happened???

I still need to buy Hancock and watch it again, but going from what I remember watching it in theatres I really don't want a sequel.
Don't get me wrong, I actually really liked the movie (as opposed to many on here).
I just feel it falls in the same category as Unbreakable.
The concept of the movie is the main reason the movie was so good. A sequel couldn't have that same concept without re-doing the same movie over again. All it would be is another superhero movie.
It wasn't the Hancock character that made the movie good (to me) it was the character arc that made the movie.

I have listed before on this thread why a think a sequel has plenty of places to go. I look forward to it a lot, I really enjoyed the first movie, especially the unrated version.

My brother is in the movie! I just rewatched the dvd and he told me what scene he was in. I had to cap it and point him out, it is cool as hell to see him in a big screen movie, even if he is only an extra ;).

^Ha ha, thats great, I'm sure he got a good look at Charlize, I know I would have!

he is actually taller than Will :wow:, and he was surprised how tall Charlize was :woot:.

^She is a tall girl, makes her all the more attractive to me. Like she couldnt get more attractive!

Was surprised that Will is only 6"2 though, thought he was taller than that, only an inch taller than me.

Charlize is a fox.

This movie was fun. It's clearly not meant to be some deeply scripted masterpiece. I don't know what people were expecting but I got my money's worth.

I actually thought Charlize didnt look that nice in Hancock for most of the movie, I dont know what it was, but she didnt look her usual majestic self. Still thought she played a great part though.

she was playing the part of a homemaker. They dont usually dress sexy.

^But with Charlize, even when she isnt trying to look sexy she does, this movie, she didnt look her best, even with make up on, dont know what it was.

Thats an exaggeration. She obviously accomplished not looking like Hollywood glamor cause that is exactly what she was supposed to look like.

Which is why, Aeon Flux aside, she should be Wonder Woman.

Yeah I am pretty much pulling for her for WW. I hear her name so much for Catwoman I didnt think of her right away.

Yeah, she's already 5'10. So I think that's more than enough. Credentials wise, she's done everything from action to indie drama to comedy to romance, so her resume is already straight.

Well okay but IMO in this movie she looked less attractive than a lot of house wives I know, not trying to be funny or cocky, but a few people I know didnt recognise in this movie until I told them who it was.

Not house wife. HOMEMAKER. Housewives hire nannies and maids and gardners and spend money on make-up, clothes, and plastic surgery to make themselves look the best possible, homemakers actually do house-keeping and baby sitting by themselves, and usually end up in more casual clothes. There's absolutely no homemakers anywhere near me and Im willing to bet all up the eastern coast of USA AT LEAST that looks better than Charlize Theron in Hancock. The only thing she really does is pull her hair back and dress more casually.
