well i don't really think there race can perminantly lose there powers... but i would assume the longer time spent with someone the longer it takes to get there power back. After all he began losing his powers by spending more time around her. and that took a while to kick in.

But yet his powers returned almost fully by just going down the road away from her, they returned almost instantly, and he spent a lot of time with her before his powers started fading.

Kinda wish they could've emped more the increased loss of power that charlize mentioned.

It kinda points to a day where Hancock could be flying past her,..... and find himself bellyflopping to the ground in a sudden loss of power.

The 2nd half of the movie he was with her a lot, the night out they had, the meeting the next, the talk, the fight, the talk again, thats a lot in the space of 24 hours to see someone.

still, not spending every day together (which is my point) i really don't see why your debating this with me. They were together long enough for him to start losing his abilities (notice how they kicked on and off, never really truely went fully off 100%) in theory this is how he was able to gain his power back quickly... he just had to get further and further away from her to "recharge" I would suspect that the longer your with your "pair" the more your power depletes, probably until you lose it all together. Now the longer your with them, the slower it'd come back as well. a few days compared to the years they were apart is no matter what you say... not alot of time together. sure it was enough to "run out" of his ability.. but thats all.

There was a time before 1980 where Hollywood would do sequels as a matter of course to tell a full story.

If Indiana Jones had started around 1972,... ALL the films woul've been done before 1978,... with spin off based on other characters.

If Hancock producers were smart,... they would have a Prequel NOW. They would have a Sequel by the end of next year.

The main bank robber Eddie Marsan did a pretty good American accent I only heard it slip once or twice. He was kind of a supervillain I guess as the news reporter was saying his a criminal genius and minipulator so I guess he was Han***** lex luthor.

The X-Men knock off costume was funny.

Seeming as Mary is still immortal I guess once her husband dies she could hook back up with Hancock and they could grow old and die together.

We dont know that their powers deplete completely when they are together, thats never said or implied in the movie, which comes back to my original argument with you about how the attackers 80 years ago didnt finish the job, either they thought they had, or Mary still had enough power to fight them off.

But the years before he got amnesia and throughout History as Charlize explained it they were together and they still had a little power. They only recently (last 80 years) have been away from each other.

So therefore their power could not go totally away maybe to 1%, but definitely not 0. Although that would be practically useless in a fight, until they separated.

Lol Thats what I was thinking as well, either way the husband is screwed. What his mid to late 30's or early 40's in the film so he has a maximum of 20yrs of keeping her entertained and then Hancock will have to start little fly bys. Once he dies she can always get with Hancock or find someone else but once he decides to retire they can get together have kids and die in peace.

And therein lies a very huge plothole, one of many that sank the last act of the movie.

But it was never implied that they would lose their powers competely, it was never said either, Hancock still had plenty of power in the hospital when she was standing right next to him.

esp because (at least in my version) mary implied that all the others of there kind died because they became mortal. (old age, murder, accidents... etc..)
