HANDS DOWN! Coolest Black superheroes i've ever seen!

There aint many black heroes but characters like Blade, Storm, cyborg, Maggot, Black Panther, Spawn, falcon, power man are all great charaacters.

Definitely, I agree with you. I grew up with all those characters and they mean alot to me. I don't know the Sons of Liberty just looks real cool and unique to me.

This thread is racist. Sorry to say that, but it is. Instead, this should be "Coolest Superheroes I've ever seen". I don't look at color.

But anyways, coolest black superheroes:

1-Spawn
2-Blade
3-Cyborg
4-Black panther
5-Spike

Btw,
Isn't Storm Egyptian?

Although you probably meant it as a joke, there's nothing racist about this. What, you don't like at gender either?

Storm is not Egyptian. She was born in New York and she has... Kenian heritage I believe.

i think this thread is not rascist because because most superheros that are called icons like spiderman and batman and superman are white so this thread is a great outlet for african american comicbook fans.and by the way i think spawn is the best black superhero and his character is a icon because he was the number one selling property the first six seven years after todd macfarland created it and he was out selling spiderman and batman and superman as well as all of marvel and dc.

Too bad he was all style and no substance, like most of Image in the 90's.

Why does it matter that they are black?

Why can't they just be the coolest superheroes you've ever seen?

I gotta say, looking at the link i'm not all that impressed.

Why does it matter that they are black?
Exactly! I don't consider spider-man the coolest white superhero. I conder him the coolest superhero. Why should we argue which is the coolest color superhero?
Why can't they just be the coolest superheroes you've ever seen?

Let me get this straight. You can say "white", but it's not okay to say black? What if the black superhero is Jamacain? Not all blacks are African.

Though, I suppose that most superheroes are white because mosre comic book fans are white, at least where I live, in New York. I don't think I've seen any black comic fans except for online.

I don't get why people get worked up over the distinction 'black'. Is it suddenly sexist to name some character the coolest female superhero? The distinction is made to show that they aren't that much black superheroes around (or at least, whom the poster considers "cool"). And really, the coolest black superhero doesn't necessarily have to be the coolest superhero in general. It is an expression to set things apart from others. It may come off as racist, but there's not really anything racist about it.

Northstar...

... he said, completely ignoring the sarcasm.

Okay. SO lets say right now I make a thread called "HANDS DOWN: coolest white superhero you've ever seen?!", you don't think people are gonna say post after post that I'm a racist? Hmm?

Of course they will. It's the beauty of the racial double standard. Being a black guy, I think it's awesome.

Coolest Jewish superhero.

Coolest Asian superhero.

Coolest black superhero.

Theres nothing wrong with these terms.

If the majority of superheroes were Jewish or Asian or black then these terms wouldn't make sense would they? But there's only a dozen or so in each universe. Nothing wrong with pointing out the non-white race of a superhero when it's the exception to th rule.

The original Deathlok is black too. I always thought it was odd that both him and Spawn are black, but you wouldn't be able to tell by a random pic of them, because both of them look like zombies. At least Blade and Power Man never had Their faces hidden or disfigured. Same with Storm.

Well, the original Deathlok is back to his human body now, so you can tell he's black again. He's also currently sporting a wicked 'stache. :)

Just because you don't look at color doesn't mean it's not there. It's not racist to see differences in characters. It might be racist to judge those characters as better or worse than other (let's say white) characters based on their racial differences, but that's not what this thread is asking about at all.

Preach it, man. Look at Jazz. He's black and white. Can't we all strive to be the same?

This reminds me of an episode of South Park.

the reason i said it's a good outlet for african americans is because characters like batman, spiderman, superman were created in a time were there were discrimination in this country and comic creaters had to make their characters white and in a way it still as hurt comics in terms devolping a african american fan base.spawn character was created in a time where having a black character being a hero is okay.when spawn came out his character being black was part of the reason he became the number one best seller because people of all colors could relate to him making a deal with the devil just to come back for the woman he loved i belive everyone of us could relate.that's why i think his character is an icon and you have to put him up with spiderman and batman and superman because he out sold them and he was a new character not an establisehed character brand new.

spawn never outsold spider-man. He's... spider-man. And why do you call black people African Americans? That's so annoying. Just call them black already, geez.

Yeah... you can sure relate to dealing with the devil... everyone has been through that. One reason spider-man has been most popular is because everyone relates to him. Spawn and Blade were created when black people were first getting popular after all that stupid racism crap.
