For all you Jews out there, Chanukah/Hanukkah (which ever you prefer) starts on Monday. I'm 1/3 Jewish, so I light the menorah, but I don't do much else in terms of celebrating.

I hope Nickelodeon plays the Rugrats Chanukah special from back in the day. That would be nice.

thats imposible. so who in your family is jewish?

I shall prepare a feast! Invite no one and eat it all myself! I don't have any Jewish friends. :/

Happy Hanukkah, pass the manishevitz wine!

My Grandfather is.
I think that'd make you 1/4, not 1/3. You have four grandparents, and one of four (1 / 4) is Jewish. If you were 1/3 Jewish, that'd mean you only had 3 grandparents, which means one of your parents was born through asexual budding. Then again, maybe one of your parents was a sponge; I don't know you like that.

This comment is offensive to my sponge grandparent.

...can you actually be 1/3 anything? I'm trying to work out how you can be 2/6 anything...maybe I'm just having a brain fart.

I don't know. I guess if your father is 100% Irish, and your mother is 50% Hispanic and 50% Jewish, you could be 1/3 Jewish... but I don't know if that is mathematically correct.

I think that would make me 50% Irish, 25% Hispanic and 25% Jewish.

I dunno. Whatevs. :yay:

No, that's not correct at all. That'd make you 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Hispanic, 1/4 Jewish. Like I explained before, it's impossible to be 1/3 of any ethnicity unless you have an asexual grandparent who reproduced without a partner.

Well... math has never been my strong suit. I have never heard of anyone being 1/3 anything before, so I guess he's just mistaken.

I don't think it's possible even then. Even if you only had ONE parent, somewhere back along the family line somebody would likely have had 2 parents. Even if they hadn't, that would mean that they're 100% whatever they are.

The key would be the number 2. I think that's why the denominator is always a factor of 2.

:lmao:

I was just joking around. However, I am amused that you guys got all technical about it.

I was looking online, and apparently some people eat jelly donuts during Chanukah. I think I'll wake up early tomorrow and join that particular festivity.
