The Dark Knight Harley Quinn

She's not. Just read the article, and it seems they only put her in there because the clothes come from the "Two-Face collection".

I never said she was in it...why WOULD Heather Mills be in TDK? Read my comment again, I was just saying that I didn't know why that photo was filed under the TDK...until I noticed what you did, that really great Two-Face collection line. Oh MSN! You're too much!

Sorry that i did not provide the link, i didn't have it and wasn't sure if it was still around or not...
if she's not in the film then great haha, because it was bothering me and i didn't have too much time to research, i knew one of you would probably know.
Thank you.

The only real thing that irks me about this thread is that most of the people here are choosing actresses who are:

1) Blonde

and

2) Hot

Now, usually that's not a problem, but many of the actresses chosen can't actually act that well. No trying to flame, but Brittany Murphy? Please. Her role in Sin City was suited for her, but to be completely honest, someone to play an incredibly complex character like Quinn would have to be much better than Murphy, in terms of standard. In addition, big name actresses like Scarlett Johansson while blonde and, again hot, probably couldn't pull of Quinn and just end up making the movie unbearable. I don't enjoy making my own casting predictions, because just to me it makes people come off somewhat concieted, especially the guys who go "OMG *Insert actress with no talent here* HAS TO PLAY QUINN OR IM NOT SEEIN D MOVEEEEEE". So, yeah, I'm not going to suggest anyone.

I'm not so sure if this is a spoiler or not as well, but according to Sarah Jayne Dunn's resume, and on IMDB, she's signed to the role. Now, personally, I've never seen any of Ms. Dunn's work, but she looks sorta like a Quinn. Then again, it may just be a rumour or publicity stunt, but she IS in the movie, we know that much.

That is completely untrue.

RDF Management, which is Sarah's management company where her profile is, does not have her listed in any role.

IMDB doesn't have her listed as Harley Quinn either.

People are forgetting the basics here.

The role of Harley Quinn is neither Shakespearian or likely to lead to any Academy Awards.

The character would not be the main focus of any Batmovie, she is a side character who brings dark humour and a faux love interest to the Joker.

The actress wouldn't be in it much, let alone as both the psychiatrist and the psychopath, so rejecting an actress who is perfectly suitable for being Harley, but unable to wear glasses and talk plainly, is very fussy.

You can try and overcomplicate the requirements, but the fundamental desires for Harley Quinn are for a blonde girl between 25-30 who can pull off a Brooklyn accent and a dirty laugh.

I would hardly consider Harley Quinn to be "an incredibly complex character", and for it to be out of Brittany Murphy's range is very laughable given damaged/deranged is her speciality (Don't Say a Word, Girl Interupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous).

Most the suggestions are acceptable, some are obviously a little too A-List, but to be honest, this is just fanfun since the chances of actually getting her in a movie is now near zero post-Ledger. We all have personal preferences, it's only a bit of fun throwing names into the mix.

I say go ahead and introduce her as Harley Quinzell....and stop there. She is way to campy of a character to fit into the Nolan universe. Why would anyone want to see Joker blow the **** out of a building and then see this jester looking fool talk in a high baby voice "Mr. J" this and "Mr. J" that. Introduce her, giver her a nod, and let it go.

You are out of your mind if you try to say Harley Quinn is a complex character and that it would require a skilled actress to bring her to life. She was created for the animated series; keep that in mind. Sure, she has the potential to be more complex if you want to really pile on the psycho-babble but she is surely not out of reach of most competent actresses. This bulls**t about "this and this" actress couldn't play Harley Quinn is just ludicrous, and as much as I love Batman and credit it with being well written and conceived in many of its forms, you are over-exaggerating the complexity of the source material by making claims like this.

I completely agree Magus. I am 99.9% positive that Harley Quinn isn't in TDK, but if she is, or if she makes an appearence in the third movie, there would be no need to spend money on a "quality" actress. Harley does have some complexities, and with some changes could really become a disturbing and interesting character, but I don't think these film makers would take the time to try to flesh out the character.

Maybe if Nolan decides against recasting the Joker, his role can be filled by Harley Quinn in the 3rd movie. It would be a shame to not have them on screen together, but it would be an even bigger shame to not have any continuation whatsoever of Joker's presence in the 3rd movie. Especially since indications are that they were planning on bringing him back.

Say Dr. Quinzel fell in love with Joker while treating him in Arkham, but he gets the death penalty (I'm assuming Nolan didn't kill in TDK). She snaps when he dies, carves herself a smile, and carries on his legacy. This can all have happened between the events of the 2nd and 3rd movie, so that maybe Batman has to figure out who this crazy clown lady even is. This way Joker would really be an absolute, in that his existence is perpetuated even beyond his death by Harley.

I'd love to see Kristen Bell in the role, but if Harley was going to have to go solo, then they should go with a high caliber actress, say Rachel Weisz (or someone along those lines), who'd really lose herself in the role and give just as intricate a performance as Ledger seems to have given.

Hmm I know I just said high caliber actress, but it just occurred to me that Milla Jovovich might very well kick some serious ass as Harley. She tends to be in bad movies (don't understand why she kept going for those crappy Resident Evils) but she is actually quite good if you've seen some of her performances, and can play crazy easily. I could see her pull a Ledger with Harley.

:applaud

I still want Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I actually LOVE that idea, because I didn't really want the Joker to be a major part of the 3rd movie since this'll definitely be his movie, but I do want the Joker legacy to be continued. And now with Ledger gone, I don't really wanna see a new Joker (unless it's Johnny Depp cuz he could definitely carry on what Ledger has created), so having Harley appear on the scene to carry on his legacy would be great. Plus, who here doesn't wanna see a gritty Ledger-esque Harley? I'd love it!:hq:

I agree, Zacky. I think Kristen Bell would be good as Harley Quinn.

lol. i didn't mean it that way. i meant that if nolan will be attached to a possible 3rd film, then i'd rather not have him try to do HQ and spend more time on two-face and who ever else he may want to do as a villain

I agree with you too jsf. There are so many other villains Nolan can use and explore, no reason for him to use HQ as a side kick or try to make her a stand alone character.

That would be cool. :hq:

TDK will have some focus on the spin-off vigilantes that Batman inspired. I can see a corollary of Joker inspired criminals. HQ would fit into that.

i personally think that would be a better route for Nolan to take for this franchise

I have to chime in on this one. Harley 100% rocks. But NOT FOR THE NOLAN FILMS!!!!!!
I don't think this version of the Joker would hang with her. He seems more akin to having his way and shooting her in the head.
This world built by Nolan, has it's barriers to characters. HQ...just won't work.
Shumacher's Batman nipples and all, oh ya, she would have worked or even in Burton's.

She woulda been great in Burtons world imo

Theyre going to have to do something with her eventually it seems quite a few people really wanna see her portrayed in a film.

He wouldn't. That's one thing I can't understand why people insist on her being in this film. This Joker isn't the kind of person to keep a girl around, much less anyone else.

Neither is the comics Joker, who has attempted to kill her on several occasions.
