Now i'm really worried. I'm not sure what to expect now. Moriarty liked it and Harry hated it.

AND it sounds more and more like fans are gonna be pissed and average joes will be the only ones loving it.

*sigh* isn't it possible he didn't like the film because it wasn't any good? Why does everyone dump on reviewers who don't like films they are excited about? Maybe they genuinely didn't like the film and there was NO underlying motive. Isn't that possible?

I DID read the review (albiet quickly--avoiding potential spoilers)...and from my perspective he never EVER gave the film a chance! If you set yourself up for disappointment months in advance, whatta think will happen?

In addition, another thing that bothers me about his review is his perspective on Ratner and how he's retracting from his bashing just a few months prior...I mean this is a guy who just a few months back was bashing Ratner and calling him a hack.

Now that he's aware that Ratner's aware that he called him a hack (Ratner mentioned it in one of his interviews), he's backtracking from his initial namecalling and blaming Rothman instead.

And if he set himself up for disspointment, I don't know, maybe he could have been SURPRISED? If the film was great, he would admit it. People around here can't handle the fact the film sucks. Even the positive reviews aren't glowing. The average grade so far is a "6" according the RT and since when do we get excited about an average film?

On the Ratner bashing - Maybe his fellow journalists have made him come to his senses? People can change you know. Some of his early critism on Brett was unfair, i must admit.

You're right, thats just a personal thing with me...the whole thing is just shady...like talkin' behind someones back then retracting it when you realize they heard you.

And most of the reasons why these reviews aren't glowing (IMHO) are because they are comparing them to the previous two films...granted its the natural thing to do, but still take X3 as a stand alone film and who knows, some critics may be more favorable.

Most of these critics critiques are basically comparing X3 to Singers X-Men movies...as opposed to simply critiquing it as an X-Men movie.

Just like the Godfather Trilogy...Part 3 is hailed by many as the worst of the series...yet at the same time those same critics say that AS A STAND ALONE FILM (ie taking it as just ONE movie as opposed to pt 3 of a trilogy) its pretty good.

I expected such review from him from the very beggining. He shouldn't be taken seriously.

To be honest I was expecting a far worse review from Harry! At the end of the day the only thing the franchise has going for it is it's box office earnings! The fans are unhappy, the critics are unhappy, so the only ones who could tip the scales are the general audience! I mean DVC got awful reviews but it's being regarded as a hit b/c of it's huge BO earnings!

Of course its possible. But as you said most People here seems to not be able to accept the fact that not everyone will like this Movie & that now it seems it be getting more on the Negative Side of Reviews as it gets closer to release

I would not say going by reviews that the Movie sucks. But for the Die Hard Comic Book Fans it seems that there are more bad then good things to like about this Movie. We will all find out this Weekend & see for ourselves

We all want a great film. In the end wether we like this Movie or not we are all X-fans. Sure tehre may not be plenty of things we will not like about this Movie but hey you know what this IS after all a Comic Book Movie. I was pissed about Cyclops dying & now with all these reviews saying the Movie never made it clear that he actually died or not that leaves things open for X-Men 4. The same with Rogue since there is at the end a Scene with Magneto that tells us that the cure is not permanate that also leaves things open with everyone that ended up taking the cure. Remember guys even if your favorite Character dies, takes the cure there are hints all throughout the Movies that none of these things are 100 % permanate. We all know that FOX will not let this be the last X-Men Movie. They can say it is but we all know FOX in the end will not let one of their biggest Movie Franchises end especially like this with all these hints to continue the Movies.

No, because Moriarty is the only one on AICN who is objective and usually he and I have similar taste in what is good or not when it comes to movies. Usually, the films he gives good reviews I like and agree with his reviews and the same for the negative ones.
