Or maybe they are all just different & like & expect different things ?

I won't speak about Quint because I haven't read many of his reviews...but Harry...he shouldn't be able to review jack. But that's just my opinion.

We will find out ourselves on Friday about this Movie eh

Indeed...I'm sure I won't like certain things but I'm hoping as a whole it will be an awesome movie to me.

Well we all knew this would happen.Harry bashes the hell outta X3.

On the flip side when Superman Returns hits Harry will obviously cream his enormous pants and praise it to the high heavens.I'm sorry everyone's entitled to their opinion but I can't read a mostly negative review from Harry Knowles for a Marvel movie and call it sincere or legit.Let's face facts here:Harry has a vendetta against Ratner. The lesson here. It's easy to bash anything that a person you hate with a passion does.If it's a film,a novel,tv series etc. It's nonsensical bull****!!!
Trust me now that harry has his review up some posters here will go see X3 come back to the boards and say,"Yeah Harry was right".Well that's fine but how about having your own opinion.Suit yourselves but I'm not reading Harry's review:down

I'm sorry, but that review smacks of Tom Rothman hate. He got the knife in at the earliest possible opporunity. I'll except some of his points are valid ones, but I won't accept that he isn't heavily biased by some ongoing fued with Tom Rothman.

Quint was actually acting positive aout X3 before this, but Harry hated X3 from since he was born. I knew he'd give it a bad review.

Harry was always going to hate it.

Screw him. :down

I agree. He has a personal beef with Ratner,so he will likely diss anything Ratner comes up with.....unless Ratner gives him passes to a few screenings or something.

Surprise, sur-****ing-prise.

The guy's got a reputation, he's been saying this is gonna suck since day one, he's not gonna go back on his word.

So let's forget all his constructive criticism and pretend he has deep seeded psychological issues. Or, he DIDNT LIKE THE FILM. Isn't that possible?! Why can't people just accept other's opinions without attacking their character?

Now, you would all have a point if X3 was getting the sorts of reviews that BB or Spiderman 2 got. But Harry isn't alone. A lot of people think the movie is either poor or just pretty good. Very few glowing reviews which suggests to me that it isn't some vendetta he has against Rothman. But, hey continue getting stuck into him because you can't accept that something you are looking forward to is crap.

Because Harry has spewed hate toward Rothman, Ratner and X3 in general for almost a year now. Yes there is some constructive criticism in there, but with it there is also a lot of childish bias.

Surprise, surprise.

The fat man hated it ... didn't see that one coming.

And so is your and everyone's reaction to Harry's review. VERY ironic! :p

I had the feeling Harry wasnt going to like it. Even way back when and sometimes when you set yourself up to not like something that is ususally what happens. If he went in expecting a bad film then he is automatically going to pick at the bad stuff. It's just the way the mind works.

But I'm not stressing his view cuz he's not God and I can form my own opinion about X3.

as much as I dislike Harry, his review is pretty close to how I felt, except I felt that hugh did a better job then what he described

Callisto's group of rag tag tattoed mutants was probably the worst part next to cyclops death...... how stereotypical and cliche is it to make the bad guys wear black leather and have tattoos,

if this movie had two mojor faults, actually three,
it was rushed, no depth, and no closure

You know what? He had some very good freaking points.

well, after seeing x3, which I really did enjoy, but feel it is the weakest of the trilogy, I could notice a difference between this one and singer's enteries, while x3 did look like a singer movie most of the time, it honestly felt like it was missing something, I just feel like Fox was to busy trying to copy the look of singer's movies but they forgot to copy how it made you feel. I enjoyed the action a lot, but I wish they could have added anothe 40 minutes to the film, give some sub characters some time to shine, so many characters were pointless, and now I know why the didn't bring Gambit into the story, if the did, he would have had a thankless cameo or small role like Quils, Pyslocke or many other of the brotherhood members. Atleast in the x2, when they inroduced a character such as Nightcrawler, he was more then just a pawn, unlike Juggs and Multiple Man, they felt merey like one trick pony, side note too, Juggs muscle suite was very very annoying..... Also the Rogue/Ice-Man relationship really felt forced this time
what did I like, I liked wolverine, I know cyke fans will hang me for this, but I think Hugh did a good job, as ussual, with the logan character. Halle had more to do this time, but in the end, her peformance was forgettable IMO. Ian and patrick were both outstanding, I could never picture anyone else playing there roles. Famke did good when the time called for it, she had basically a thankless role the majority of the time, just being a trophy next to Magneto, towards the end though, when she turns it on, she goes nuts, and I really enjoyed seeing that, since she is the "dark phoenix", I just wish she had more to do in the movie then just stand around for much of the time. Angel was good in his scenes, but he had 10 minutes of screen time IMO, maybe a few more, but not much. Beast was great, I thought his makeup was good and I'm glad to see that he had some decent action scenes.
I would have done without the cure darts tho, I thought that was a little lame, I also think that a certain fan fav on these boards was treated unfarely, after their death, he gets barely a mention, and basically it seems like no one cares, I think that right there was Fox giving the finger to Mr M., the killed him off, then made it clear to no one really gave a crap, and i think that was a message to him from fox, IMO

oooppps, sorry for the review, I can't start any threads on here for another week, so, yeah!!!

Folks, stop whining

Harry bashed Batman begins and thought it looked bad. But when he saw it, he gave it a good review.

This movie did something wrong that he didnt like. plain and simple. And he had alot of good points for anyone thats pissed about how the DP saga was butchered.

Had harry been praising this film, you'd all be kissing his fat ass by now. And thats sad, bashing reviewers because they dont fit your fantastical view that this movie will be gods gift.

Why are you people surprised that Harry trashed this?

Because if this movie was even a modicrum of amazing, he wouldve turned around, as he's done before.

The fact that he says if you give a crap about X-Men, then thats all you'll get with this flick bothers me the most, since harry is a die hard fan

Most here are missing the point.

Harry represents everything that is bad about being a 'geek'

He forms opinions very quicky and often without seeing the finished result.

A perfect example is King Kong ... which is to be honest a quite terrible movie, but because Harry is a Kong nut it was never going to get anything less than a good/great review.

X3 was doomed from the start ... there is no way he could give a positive review because thats not how he works.

Sure we all love Dark Phoenix in the comics but to use what he HOPED was in the movie to bash what IS in the movie is just a bit pathetic.

I dislike Aint it cool News and I am not a huge supporter of Singer over Ratner, but what Harry said (and the other reviewers Quint and Masawyrm) is very very close to how I felt about this film.

I love X-Men, much like most of us do, if we are honest, and this film does not deliver to those that hold these characters so dearly.

We don't get the phoenix we've been wanting to see, we dont get the emotional depths of the characters, we dont feel the weight and the drama like we expected to given the storyline, we dont get that great realization we all wanted to see after the end of X2.

What we get are solid action scenes (some are very cool) and alot of made-for-film mutants fighting strange reinventions of the characters we know from the previous films.

If this wasnt X-Men, and didnt have 2 films prior, it would be a great ACTION COMIC BOOK movie with COOL POWERS and some SAD BITS.

But it is ****ing X-Men, we have expectations, we know what these characters should be like on screen and we know this storyline should rip our little fanboy hearts out and it doesnt. It's not about the fact that it was nothing like the comic book storline, its the fact that it was so far from anything we expected given the comic book storyline that its just depressing for a fan like me. I get that this movie is not made for fans, or just for fans, i get that most of the money is to be made in the general audience, but fans like me supported and loved the previous two films for a reason, and with this new film, that reason is freaking gone.
