Harry Potter 8 and beyond

Considering Star Wars has a new trilogy of films with Episodes 7, 8 and 9 could a new trilogy of Harry Potter films work? Like could they do a Force Awakens type thing with the Harry Potter franchise and introduce new characters but also bringing back characters that we already know shifting the franchise to a much newer generation if that makes any sense?
