Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - Part 4

After thinking about Deadly Hallows pt. 2 some more, I realized that for all the face turning that Draco was supposed to have done, he actually didn't really do very much. Do you guys believe he really redeemed himself in the end, or it's just that his failure was partly responsible for his renouncement of the Dark Lord? I admit that I was hoping to have see Draco actually proactively siding with Potter in the final, climatic battle, but perhaps it was an unrealistic expectation. I just don't like that Draco meekly walked away from the last battle instead of taking a stand.

Draco is and will always be an arrogant elitist at least that's how I see it based on how the series ends. I mean he's not a mass murder that wants to eradicate the non-pure but he still believes he's better than them. Now one can argue that's due to how he was raised but that's a whole other argument. I could see Draco helping Harry during certain situations but they would never be friends.

Him taking a stand is not his personality. He would maybe with Harry because he thinks he is better than him but at the end of the day Draco is a ***** who is scared **** less of things he doesn't understand. Anyone who surrounds himself with goons is very insecure with himself and will always have others get their hands dirty before himself. Plus its ****ing Voldemort, he has seen his father, who in his mind is the most powerful man he has ever known and admires to the nth degree, cower in fear to the man and that scares the **** out of him. He'd never take a stand.

His father was he same way in the books; after Voldemort's disappearance post-trying to kill Harry, Lucius got himself a position in the ministry and was often seen in the company of the former minister, Cornelius Fudge.

Draco did sort of take a stand in Part I when he didn't give Harry up to Bellatrix in Malfoy Manor.

Best part of the show was...

...when he played Casey Anthony's dog. :lmao:

Yeah, he was very good. He has a great American accent too.

I read an article recently with Dan and he said that him and Rupert aren't close friends, even saying they rarely see or talk to each other. He did say that him and Emma do talk and text each other frequently. I would have thought that all three of them would be close friends considering that they worked together and grew up together doing these movies over the course of 10 years. I know they were just playing characters but they seemed to have some real life chemistry you know? I quess that's what happens when people grow up.

I once read an interview with Bruce Campbell where he mentions how people expected him to hang out with his co-stars of Briscoe County Jr., but he said while they respect each other and enjoy working with one another, they are co-workers. They do a job and after spending 8 or 9 hours on a set, they like to go home or to their trailers, spend time with their family and friends, relax, etc.

It's really not a huge surprise. We as an audience like to think that they are close friends but they are just doing a job. How many of us are best friends with our co-workers?

I've read that Rupert being a bit older (only a year, but I guess it's enough of a gap) kind of seperated them as well. As long as they're not doing interviews about what horrible bastards they thought the others were, nothing seems out of the ordinary about how close they are/were.

By the way, as much as I know there was a slim chance of it actually happening, I would have much preferred to see Deathly Hallows II get a Best Picture nomination over Extremely Tacky and Incredibly Annoying when the Oscar nominations were announced this morning.

Interesting. I actually read an article from quite some time ago, that Tom Felton (Draco Malroy) was actually a very good friend with the three main actors, and they'd often play games and whatnots. Despite the fact that he has been associated with the bully Draco for a decade, he is a very friendly guy in real life. I think we are just so readily assume that the actor's personality mirrors his film counterpart, that we would often be surprised when the truth is the opposite.

Well Emma had a crush on Tom Felton , that really surprised me for some reason.

Potter was robbed once again.

edit:Typed that at the same time as Raiden, lol.

Tom Felton is a regular on Twitter. He seems like a very sweet guy. JK Rowling said during her conversation with Dan Radcliffe on the DH2 blu-ray that she's been a fan of Tom's when she saw him playing with her daughter right after they were cast in the first movie.

After we saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes, my mom just said "Will someone please cast him in a nice romantic comedy or something?!?!" :funny:

Jason Isaacs referred to him as the "little heartthrob" on the set on one of the Chamber of Secrets extra features. So I'm guessing Emma wasn't alone on that one.

Perhaps, but Rickman's performance certainly was.

**** Jonah Hill and the horse he rode in on. :o

I would have given it the Best Picture nomination that went to Extremely Tacky and Incredibly Annoying. :cwink:

That sappy crap was nominated?! Oh, pffft.... Potter is definitely more Oscar-caliber than that movie. :o

Yup. :whatever:

Frankly, I'm glad The Artist is the frontrunner. I love that movie. I've seen it twice already.

I never expected that Harry Potter would ever win a Best Picture Oscar. But the recognition would have been nice.

Agreed. Alan Rickman can act circles around Jonah Hill in his sleep.

What I don't understand is, Oscar can nominate 10 films, but they only nominated 9 rather than include Potter as one of the 10 candidates? Even though Deadly Hollow pt 2 wasn't the best in the series, the Academy could've nominated it as a recognition of the entire franchise, like what they did with ROTK.
