I finally saw it yesterday. Easily one of the best of the franchise. More loyal than any since COS and the action and visuals are mind blowing. 8/10.
Some of my thoughts.
Rickman was Oscar nomination good.
I REALLY wish that the scene with the Amycus Carrow spitting on McGonagal and Harry defending her honor was in the film. I get why they did the Great Hall scene, but Harry using the Cruciatus Curse on Carrow in McGonagal's defense is such a great scene.
I also would've liked for more of King's Cross. It is the first time that Gambon got it right and I would've liked to explore Dumbledore's past. Grindlewald was forgotten in this movie.
Why the hell did they put in a random, two line, Neville/Luna romance?
Holy **** the kind who played Ron and Hermione's son looked just like young Grint. Was he a relative?
I LOVED the brutality of Voldemort's rampage in Gringotts. Killing Griphook was a very nice touch. I also loved the brutality of the battle of Hogwarts. Killing Lavender was an equally nice touch. I'm glad they didn't backdown and kill off Remus and Tonks on screen. I love the random nature of their deaths. Makes it feel like a proper war. Though I wish that Fred was killed on screen.
How good is the Prince's Tale?
WTF is Arthur Weasley's problem? Due to the extended nature of the battle between Bellatrix and Molly, he literally just stands there and watches while his wife risks her life.
I wish Percy's return was featured, but I suppose his falling out never came into play in the movies. Was that him that I saw in the background a couple of times though?
It was weird to see Voldemort punching and kicking Harry. You'd think that "muggle dueling," would be beneath him.
I really wish the fight between Voldemort and Harry was watched by a crowd and and that there was some kind of reaction to Voldemort's death. I also wish there was more of a response when Harry sprung out of Hagrid's arms. Instead no one seemed to really mind.
