Has anybody every thought about becoming a vigilante..seriously?

I thought about it once, for about 2.25 seconds, until I actually came to my senses and realised that I would probably end up being killed in about the same about of time that I spent considering it...

I'm thinking about it but it would have to be a weekend thing and only after sunset.

I've thought about it. Never seriously considered it though. I probably can't fight so I'd have to go Punisher style. :p

In wanted to! Until I showed up in an episode of COPS. I decided acting instead.

I'm not a good fighter, and I don't know a lot about guns, so I will have to resort to posting mean things on Twitter.

Honest.

If i would be a vigilante?
No....because i lose control very easily in a situation like that, so, i would make the Punisher look like a choir boy.
But, then again, i´m very controlled when i have to be, so...maybe....
But, life isn´t a comic book or a movie, so....No.

:lmao:

So pretty much like Ultimatehero...big shot movie star by day (apparently)/ social injustice vigilante by night :o

Vigilante? No

Ghost of Vengeance? Hell yes

Punisher can't be sure if the people he kills deserve to die.

Ghost Rider knows whose guilty and who isn't.

I'd be Ghost Rider.

I have....

To be honest, I always thought the funny/ironic thing about this is how "insane" people say it is. Apparently it's more rational to be a detrimental criminal who brings misery to others lives. Ha!

I think that for something like this to be done and work it would take someone who is (through and through) intelligent, courageous, and most of all....selfless.

Considering that you'd have to be borderline psycho if you just went around killing people because you thought they were 'bad' I'd say you would have to be insane to consider it viable and to actually try it.

Considering even in fiction you'd need a huge skill set, something to bankroll then entire op and some sort of support team to assist (even Punny didn't go alone for a very long time and not for long), doing it in real life where one gun shot can kill you even with the best body armour isn't anything more than a pipe dream.

I want everyone who has thought about becoming a vigilante to dress in a silly spandex suit and go stalk around the alleys of the worst neighborhood near them tonight.

Suit up or shut up. :o ;)

You also have to be strategic. You have to be aware of your surroundings, how many people are around, where they are, and where new people could be coming from. One hit in the right spot and you're done.

Another aspect of this stupidity is that it's actually very difficult to just stumble upon a REAL crime in progress, even in bad neighborhoods. Which means bored vigilantes like Phoenix Jones often provoke situations that weren't actually crimes until he interfered.

The practical and ethical implications are so evident to anyone over the age of 12 that I have to wonder how this thread continues. But.... It's a hoot to read. Keep em' coming.

Phoenix Jones isnt a vigilante. He's an attention ****e and a criminal
himself.

Yeah. Most "real superheros" just serve in soup kitchens and stuff. Which is admirable in it's own right but not exactly what people think of when they think superhero.

Obviously you must be his arch-nemesis trying to turn the public against his crusade for justice...

Or I would assume so, since that's what tv shows and movies tell me about this kind of stuff. :word:

That's because there's actually no such thing as a real superhero.

And Schlosser I agree. I was just using the title he probably ascribes himself.

Sometimes, I do fantasize about a car crash happening down the road from me and how I'd react to it. I wonder if the opportunity presented itself, would I be selfless and try to pull someone out of a flipped car, etc.

But that's different. That's not being a vigilante. That's being a good person. Hopefully most of us would try to help someone in a wreck.

I think the vigilante thing, is more about quite powerless people who want to feel important, powerful and respected…. rather than an actual and genuine interest in helping others.
