Have you ever been banned?

I got banned once, from the Only-War.com forums for Warhammer Online.

The reason for me being banned - before the game came out, I asked if a particular character build was viable. The admin stated "Of course it is, this is WAR not WoW, everything is 110% viable".

I questioned that, stating that games are often imbalanced, no matter how hard the developers try to make things balanced across the board. At the same time, 4 classes were removed from the game for not being balanced.

My questioning of the admin got me stealth banned from the site.

Some friends and I frequent a heavy metal forum. One night we were at a Corrosion Of Conformity concert and saw what appeared to be a broken down, out of shape Macho Man Randy Savage. After the show we were all online at the site and one of my friends created a Macho Man nym and started talking about living in his car and the fact that all he has to eat are Slim Jims. The rest of us found this to be hilarious, so Nikita Koloff, DDP, Duthty Rhodeth (because he has a lisp), and many, many other wrestlers were created. Others at the site joined in and even a lame wrestling league was created (matches and all, even champions were crowned). My friends and I decided that was stupid, so we just used our characters to challenge non-wrestling nyms to matches that never happened and made fun of people. We ended up becoming REALLY hated (mostly because we always took the moral highground on issues like child abuse and racism even though we were basically trolls).

Well..we became known as the South Carolina Klik (a name we embrace and still claim to this day) and eventually we were banned. Heck...the site is still so crazy about us that they shut down all new nym creations after banning us (mostly because we all came back as cereal mascots the next day...) and the site went two years without allowing ANY new members to join. In fact, they banned EVERYONE from the state of South Carolina, even if those people had no idea what the SC Klik was!

So yeah...I got banned.

The Great Politics Forum War left me with three infractions, thread probation and a warning. However, it left lazur with a banning so I think it is safe to assume victory.

I got 3 probation's for language. One I felt was unfair, but the other two I meant with all my heart.

I've posted in a number of places, but I have never been banned or cautioned.
In my job as a newspaper editor, I have written long, angry e-mails to readers who complain about something. When I am done, I delete the e-mail without sending it. It helps to get it out my system.
I have done something along those lines here, also. Sometimes you just have to get it out of your system -- but it isn't actually worth making it "official."
