Actually, I was being sarcastic.

I dont think we need another villain with a 'sadistic choice' approach.

Well poo on you! lol, it was a good sarcastic idea. I completely phased out the first one with the sadistic choice.

Eddie will kidnap MJ, cause in footage recorded on a cell-phone that was on YouTube, MJ gets in a cab with a surden Eddie Brock.. and in the trailer, THAT cab is hangin in a huge BLACK web between two skyscrapers.. CONNECT THE DOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

How didn't it make sense to you in Spider-Man 2? Harry told Ock that Peter knows how to contact Spider-Man. When Ock finds Peter, MJ is with him. Ock figures what better motivation for Peter to get in touch with Spider-Man is by taking Peter's girlfriend.

What didn't make sense to you?

In the first one, Harry told his father that MJ loves Peter and Norman knows Peter is Spider-Man.

The best way to get someone to do something is to take a loved one.
just because peter is with a chick in a coffe shop that doesnt mean that he cares for her. when dock ock came he said and the girlfriend.

while, seeing on how they were moving in to kiss each other, right before he attacked, it wouldn't of exact been hard for him to figure out lol

Not to mention they were holding hands. And it's pretty obvious Ock followed Peter there. So he could have been watching him before he struck, seeing him and MJ getting cozy together.

And Peter got quite angry when Ock threatened to peel the flesh off MJ's bones:

Peter: "If you lay one finger on her...."
Ock: "You'll do what??"

Whether they were dating or not, it's obvious she is important to Peter.

Honestly dark_b, you've got no arguement here at all.

Technically Octopus couldnt have seen anything they were doing in the coffee shop because the car comes through the window, then magically he's down a side street with people looking around stupidly.

Unless he ran up, saw them, hurled the car without a street full of people seeing, then ran down the side street and walked back up again!

He really couldnt have had any idea how important she was - but that doesnt matter anyway...hell, even if Pete met her for the first time two minutes ago at a Barnes and Noble and they decide to grab a coffee, and Octopus snatched her threatened to peel her flesh off...it's not like Pete would just be all, "...eh, whatever."

in my opinion its not that Ock taking MJ made no sense, i personally think it was just a lazy way to get pete to go after Ock, i think a non-saving MJ related ending would have been better

But that scene gives him the true courage to reveal his identity to her. If she hadn't been there, he would've ended Ock's plan, then he would've returned to his double-life. He would have continued to juggle both lives, and he wouldn't have been able to tell MJ anything at all. Now, assuming Spider-Man 3 is a few years after, Peter and MJ wouldn't have been loving each other the way they do in the third, and MJ would have been married to John Jameson. That would completely alter the storyline, and it would have resulted in destroying Sam Raimi's reputation for depicting Spider-Man accurately.

Of course, there may have been other ways to twist the story back into place, but I thought the final confrontation between Ock and Spidey really meant something to MJ. It was more than just a lazy attempt to get Spidey to go after Ock. It was a way of leading up to the revealing.

...Or they could have just had Pete tell her how he really feels. I mean, there really is no courage there - Pete pulls off the mask to convince Otto of whats going on...MJ seeing him without his mask on is a 'whoops' moment.

Courage would have been to have Pete 'take down' Octopus (and I use the term loosely..) then go after MJ and tell her everything himself rather than relying on a mistake.
