I loved Shayera in JL and I think she's interesting to adapt in the big screen both are interesting characters, not to mention the great egypcian/thanagarian mythology that a movie could show. Hawkman and Hawkgirl or one first then the other. but one thing for sure is that WB need to do smth about these characters. I don't know if first in a JL then solo or solo then in JL.
What do you think folks?
Do you want a movie with them?

I know that the vogue currently is to do some sort of gestalt version where they link the Golden Age Egyptian origin of Carter Hall to the Silver Age Thanagarian origin of Katar Hol.

For myself, I don't think a better, more epic and cool version of the Hawks can be adapted to the big screen than Tim Truman's gritty and socially conscious HAWKWORLD. "As above, so below." It made the world of Thanagar like a Hunger Games style elitist Empire, and made it seam like a lived in world with a deep history and real problems of governance. It was about a decadent overclass that could literally soar over and look down on a volatile underclass of aliens and humanoids. The overall points are there to be either hit on in a film or expanded. Katar being a noble that falls, only to soar back on wings of personal honor and belief in his traditional religion of Kalormoran could be a great hero to center a film on. Alas... I think the gestalt version is what is most popular today.

I have to admit I like Hawkgirl to appear in JL more than Hawkman.
What about Margot Robbie as Hawkgirl or Eva Green? She had the warrior thing Hawkgirl has when she played Artemisia

Green might be a good Shayera... But no to seeing her on the screen without Katar. Sorry, but they are a duo, TIMMVERSE BE DAMNED!!!

I love Hawkgirl but not so much the relationship of JL but the character was pretty badass. What about if first come Hawkgirl is exiled or undercover. and then Hawkman. But if Shayera is in the JL first and then a solo movie involving Hawkman I will be happy :D

Not going to try and change your mind here. You have your idea of the character. Cool.

For myself, The Hawks are a duo. Period. As a double act they bring a unique thing to the world of superheroes. I could no more see them separated in live action than I would want to see Elongated Man without his wife. It's a package deal to my eyes. By the by... Have you ever read HAWKWORLD, the original mini-series by Tim Truman? It would be a great starting point for any screenplay about the Hawks.

Yeah as I said I pretty much loved Shayera character but I didn't like her being with GL.
No I haven't thanks I will. I love the Hawks. I totally want the hawk relationship but if they introduce her first in maybe the first movie and then develop and introduce the hawks mytho would be interesting. but if they want to introduce them first in a solo both and then in a JL first movie or sequel. Althought I want to see Shayera in the big screen!!! :woot:

I would like if they mixed the Golden and Silver Age versions of the characters, like:
Hawkman/Carter Hall (Human) | Hawkgirl/Shayera Hol (Thanagarian)

That would be interesting also if they mixed both stories (egypcian and thanagarian) would be awesome.

That could work as a sort of elegant solution actually. Like Carter is the one who gets reincarnated. He's a modern day archeologist, he finds a sarchophagus, which is really a hibernation chamber with the Thanagarian Shayera, who must convince Carter of his past life, or something like that. Or maybe my ideas aren't all that good. :woot:

That would be great. But they need to keep the reincarnation thing. :D It's the most interesting aspect about the Hawks imo.

And also what about making Shayera Kendra Southers and Katar Hol? or both humans and the thanagarians being a extinguished race by the war with other alien race many milenias ago and they both are reencarnations of their past Sayera and Katar and giving some diversity to DC on the big screen and giving a great history of mythology. But also I'd want to see thanagar so I'm king of mixed. :D

Don't understimate yourself. :o Because your idea sounds cool. :awesome:

There's so many possibilities. :woot:

The Hawks in the early 2000's Justice Society series were linked up with many of the mystical/magical creations in the DCU. Prince Khufu (Carter) was advised by Nabu the wise in ancient Egypt, who of course is the Lord of Order that is in the helmet of Dr. Fate. He was aided by Teth Adam, or "The Mighty Adam" who served the Wizard Shazam and would eventually become Black Adam. And Chayera (Sheira) would sometimes use the sacred Scarab which was the original Blue Beetles source of power, before they changed it into an alien tech thing. Also, the son of Hawkman and Hawkwoman Hector Hall became Dr. Fate as well for a time and his son is the heir to Dream from Gaiman's SANDMAN series.

Actually, Hawkman can work alone to begin with.

I prefer Hawkgirl to begin or the couple.

Eh... I'd say that having them be a duo adds more. Especially if you do the whole Thanagarian Military Police thing, with them being partners. I mean, even if you go golden age with it, they are still going to be intertwined lovers.

Actually... Maybe an interesting twist to the reincarnation angle would be the two of them coming up with the Hawk identity separately, then meeting up?

If they adapted the JLU episodes to the big screen I'd be happy, those were some of my favorite.

This would be an idealistic approach for me.

So much potential to expand the dc cinematic universe here. This could even be set on Earth 2 if they wanna eventually get into that.

Carter Hall needs to be introduced first. It's how the story starts.
When he finds out about the reincarnation cycle and his destiny, it's THEN he should meet Sheira.

Yeah there's plenty of great combinations to do a good JL movie.

I actually like more Shyera than Carter. but I also think that could also be the other way. first Shayera and then Carter/Katar.
