It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion...

Quality is still subjective to whatever is on the disc, though. But yeah just having more storage doesn't make something a better game. Though chances are you won't see 360 games with 7.1 audio, multiple language tracks, video in high definition 1080P. It's really the standard hard drive though, that's a bigger deal then the BR. at least imo.

Just to make sure....I was NOT talking about this game, just the "quality vs. quantity" thing :cmad:

But about those other things (superior audio, video, etc)....what would you rather play? GRAW2 (terrible game) on 360 or Ps3, or Super Metroid?

Yeah no doubt about that, Super Metroid.

Prime 3 is my favorite new/next gen game so far. Well Resistance is close, I'm sure Bioshock will be up there when I get to play it.

I really ant to turn this into a Metroid Prime thread, but instead I'll say we should take this conversation to the Prime 3 thread. : D

if a movie was to be made, which actress would best portray Nariko?

Yes, because the fact that it has more than 3x the storage capacity of DVD9 is simply so hard to comprehend... The simple fact that it has so much more storage already gives it a huge advantage. :whatever:
So Wii uses DVD, PC is using DVD, 360 is using DVD, and you're expecting people to make games that actually use a blu-ray disc? Hahaha. They put the game on there several times to make up for seek speeds, thats pretty much all that extra space is being used for. Don't look for that to change.

And you're not going to see very many people with the equipment to use 7.1 audio and 1080p resolutions in the first place either.

Right. If Crysis can run on a DVD9, then the fact that the 360 doesn't have it won't matter. However, Blu Ray movies are just so cool to watch. If this format war turns out well for Sony, that will be awesome to have my movies in He Def instead of having to upscale all the time. The vid marketplace is honestly a piece of **** too.

You still fail to see the advantage of bluray. Or you refuse to believe it.

If you would've read the post I made maybe.. an hour and a half before this post of yours, you wouldn't look like such a dumbass.

I wouldn't necessarily say that having more storage makes a game better, come on.
It's the classic "Quality vs. quantity" fight, and I know which one I'm rooting for.
I didnt say that. But there is more potential, obviously. The fact that there is more space means it COULD have better games. So it's not a question of quality vs. quantity in the least.

because it has more space it should have better games? wtf kinda logic is that?

what? stop putting words in my mouth. Because their is more room, it has more potential for better games. If you can't understand this go back to elementary school please.

It has more potential for bigger games, not better games. Size on a disc doesn't equal how great it is.

More space for developers to work with is always better. There's no way to spin out of it.

Better for the developer. But it doesn't mean that the games are going to be better, or they have more potential to be better. It means that they have the potential to be more robust. End argument.

well yeah it does mean it can give games more potential to be better. Many times things have to be cut out or cut down bc of the limited amount of space available. The developers for UT3 said they were having trouble in that department with the 360 version and that version may have elements taken out as a result. Same problem isnt the case with the PS3 having BR. Obviously this wont be the case for every or most situations but it can and will happen

Meh, having more of something doesn't mean it's better though. It has the potential for more features, not exactly better ones. I stress this because even PS2 games are better than alot of Nex-Gen games with all these "awesome features". Features don't mean **** if the game sucks, and really doesn't give it any more potential than the developer already had as a developer.

Example: Look at Killzone's volumetric blood! ZOMGZ! Who'll care though, if it's ****ty? What would you rather play.. a crappy shooter that's dressed up all pretty, or something like God of War I/II that doesn't have near the capacity for graphical tricks but is great in it's own right?

In the case of UT, you need those maps though. Not having some maps might effect the quality of the experience. I mean, it's not a big deal..just make some of the maps downloadable, which is what they'll do.
