Hell Houses

I think they're silly, but I don't think they're that bad. I went to a big budget Halloween spectacular last year that turned into one of these. The special effects were cool, 20 foot towers of flame, etc, but the majority of it was ridiculous. This guy went to hell and was meeting Hitler, John Lennon (because he said he was bigger than Jesus, you see), and some woman who went to church but secretly wished she was elsewhere. These are generally terribly, terribly written and absurdly pandering.

It really just seemed like a more produced version of most masses. It's why I don't go to church, too much talk of who's going to heaven or hell, got sick of all the fire and brimstone and judging. I feel I live a pretty decent and moral life, don't need to go to a place once a week and told I'm really just an *********.

so one could get really baked and probably get a kick out of it then?

my thoughts exactly

I kind of want to act in this

I would OWN the rapist at the rave role

But really, No offense to the squirrel... because I read he acted in one. But I can't understand how this is considered to be 'ok'. I mean, I get that fundamentalist churches are behind it so that certainly says something. But to try to scare people into becoming religious by acting out some extremely controversial and offensive things... seems a bit disturbed to me.

I mean, if I opened a "Atheist House" and had a bunch of anti-religion skits going on (basically the opposite of what is going on here) no doubt I would probably be literally crucified by a group of fundamentalists.

Did anyone else in get a homosexual vibe from the "Jesus" in the second video? Maybe it was because they showed the "gay sinner" shortly before that clip...but it didn't help that he wanted you to "confess your faith to Jesus with your mouth." Sounded like he was asking for a BJ.

:lmao:

I wouldn't put it past him

Too much focus on sin, and not enough focus on love. That's always the problem with people who like to "scare" people into doing "God's will." God's will usually seems to be the forgotten proclamation of loving everyone. If you handle problems by instilling fear to sway someone away from doing what you deem is wrong, you create a whole new set of problems and the cycle continues. These people in these videos need to focus more on practicing love instead of trying to demonize what they think is wrong.

I'm going to open a hell house
....or a ****e house

I guess to the Christians pretty much the same thing
Will you be performing in said ****e house?:meow:

To be fair, they do these houses during Halloween. Halloween is not really known as a time for love, and is pretty known for popularizing demons...

I highly doubt it.

Nothing in them seemed scary in the least bit to me. If I was going around to Haunted Houses during Halloween and stumbled into one of these I'd feel like I wasted my money on a lame haunted house. People who don't believe won't be frightened by any of this.

I think it's really funny that people can be scarred into believing in religion, but then I'm an atheist. If I was there it would be a whole weekend of my laughing my butt off.

Jesus, Not only are these people the insane type of christians, but they are also Drama nerds. Thats a dangerous combination.

Also, I want to go to one of these.

I want to go and be overly excited about everything

YEAH!!!!! RAPE HER!!!!!!!!! WOOO!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what they'd do

It's no offense. I don't really agree with everything they do either, including trying to scare people into religion. But it was fun just to scare people.

And I know people in "Hollywood" put on their own mock "Hell House" pretty much doing what you want to do.

I actually watched the videos.

"It's deeply disturbing...using Hell for moral policing"

Umm...isn't that what Hell's always been used for?

Is the host of the first video, like, unaware of this?

Some thoughts.

Why would the devil quote the Bible?

Why would the devil not bother to apply his red coloring properly?

"Why do you not believe it?"
"Uh, because of evidence"

Classic.

Much of the second video is like watching Jonah Hill play Satan in bad makeup.

Their Jesus reminds me of French Stewart.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. And sad. Very sad. Does this crap actually scare people?

He quotes scriptures to Jesus when he tempts him in the desert.

I am a christian and these people are not. It's total hypocrisy to create hellish images when we aren't even supposed to look on them .

They definitely think they are the 'best christians', too. I can just tell from that interview in the first video

You already know the answer

Look in your heart....
