He's got a date with an Angel... Chris Pine IS Steve Trevor!

Chris Pine is Steve Trevor.. Thoughts?

  • He will rock!! Just look at that couple!

  • Don't like the casting

  • I expected him for some other role

He had funny moments in the TV show at the same time he was brave, even if got his ass kicked more often than not. It was a great depiction and could be even better with an actor like Pine.

The 2009 animated version was too much like Hal, but somewhere in the middle would be perfect.

I think it's what the New 52 version lacks, actually (except for Forever Evil: ARGUS). He is too much "serious militar guy".

The Smallville version is fun all around too. And they managed to make a very interesting version by making him crash on the Island as a kid (losing his family) and then being raised by Hippolyta in the outside world.

Unfortunately, they spent around 25 years not being a couple after Crisis. I think this is why a lot of people don't think they should be together. But the fact that a lot of people still "ship" them after 25 years being apart is a sign their love is strong :o

SM/WW actually made me realize how much of a mistake them being apart post-Crisis was. Especially when Perez left and he wasn't even a close friend anymore.

Talk is that Pine may actually wind up being Hal Jordan! We shall see!

I think that Scott Eastwood is Steve Trevor and Pine is Hal Jordan. We shall see.

Now I’m Hearing Chris Pine For GREEN LANTERN Too

A follow-up to the Chris Pine in the DC Movieverse rumors.

I think I'm going to owe Latino Review an apology. A week or so ago the site reported that the role Chris Pine is up for in the DC Movieverse is actually Hal Jordan for Justice League and a rebooted Green Lantern (to feature multiple Earther Green Lanterns), which flew in the face of reports from the trades that Pine would play Steve Trevor, the love interest in Wonder Woman. It seemed weird to me at the time - how could the trades have this story so very wrong? - and I cautioned all to take the scoop with a heaping of salt.

But this weekend I talked to someone close to Chris Pine who confirmed that the actor is in fact up for Hal Jordan. And that he had been offered Steve Trevor. But most of all the source told me that, as of end of business Thursday, Pine hadn't officially signed on to anything - despite Warner Bros wanting him to come out on stage at Comic Con this weekend.

I don't know what it means that Pine was offered two very different roles in two different movies in the same connected universe. Are the individual films actually competing for talent? Is Green Lantern trying to snipe Pine away from Wonder Woman? Or has Warner Bros offered Pine multiple choices? Beats me, but either way it seems weird.

My source tells me that Pine is definitely leaning towards Green Lantern - better to have your own franchise than be guesting in someone else's seems to be the (bummer) thinking - but it looks like we won't officially know until the Warner Bros panel at Comic-Con.

Unless ... Steve Trevor and Hal Jordan are being combined into the same character in the DC Movie Universe.

Pilot Hal Jordan crashes on Themyscira, meets Wonder Woman, is inspired by Wonder Woman to live his live without fear and is then given a magical ring by aliens in order to save the universe!

How do you think WW fans would feel about that in general? Just curious.

Not to mention GL fans. Seriously I would be against that on the grounds of it REALLY being disrespectful of both characters. Hal shouldn't need Diana to teach him to "live without fear". Hal is an extraordinary individual. One of my fave moments in DC animation is JL Doom where once Hal is told that the fear he's feeling is being artificially induced he can just shake it off. Batman offers an antidote and Hal's like, "I don't need it." Damn straight.

And to have Trevor's role taken by Hal doesn't add much and takes away Diana's love interest, which would open things up like Supes/WW or Bats/WW and... No. Just no. :cwink:

I still think Pine is Trevor, unless Variety or HR say other wise.

I'm more in the camp of "official confirmation" and until then it's up in the air. I've seen both trades and bloggers get stuff wrong over the years (as well as right), get their wires crossed, assume stuff from screen tests, auditions and final candidates, or incomplete scripts etc. This stuff would still be in motion and of course there will be debate until it's confirmed, and people usually want to believe what they wish for the most.

It would be problematic too with the solo movies, with Green Lantern popping up in WW's movies and sweeping her off her feet? I just don't see it. And the idea of dating within the JL group...a love interest subplot is tricky enough (and usually annoying in these movies) but then WW can't stand alone within that group, she has to be dating one of them too?

I imagine they, and Green Lantern fans, would hate it. As would I.

I was just having fun with the rumours about Chris Pine having his pick of the two roles and the fact that both Hal and Steve are pilots.

Besides, everyone knows that if Wonder Woman was going to date someone within the Justice League it would be Aquaman (or maybe Hawkgirl)!

I believe Trevor is dead plot twist this whole movie is Diana's past think The First Avenger.

You are correct, and everbody knows Steve Trevoe is the man Hal Jordan wishes he was :oldrazz:

I used to ship Aquaman and Wondy. I do think one of the Justice League movies will be the Themyscira/Atlantis war.

Isn't Aquaman married? I hope they do the married man with child storyline it makes him different from the rest I love that storyline, :ilv: also there only one person I ship Wondy with and that's Batman. Also it's something that it seems Gadot screen tested with Affleck for the part of WW, I wonder if WB/DC is planning on some Wonderbat? :cwink:

Jason Momoa did mention that his favourite female superhero is Mera at the Montreal Comic Con recently.

We will just have to see if the Leaguers have their love interests: Steve Trevor, Carol Ferris etc.

He did? that's great :yay: I'm excided for the Aquaman movie I mean a live action movie that takes place underwater?! :woot: also I remember watching Aquaman in JL at first I thought this guy is like a tyrant but then it's reveal he's got a family I was like wow this guy isn't a tyrant he just wants to protect his family, I hope DC/WB give us the family storyline I think it could help GA/A related to him in a way. :yay: Also Carol Ferris I take it she's Hal's love interest?

Chris Pine is Maxwell Lord
Scott Eastwood is Constantine
Tyrese Gibson is Steve Trevor
