Reeves is still one of my top choices. And I'm sure he'd take a pay cut if needed. He's done it in the past. But if they didn't wanna go A-list for Slade, Caviezel would be amazing. He'd be amazing period.

Social media is heating up over reports that Jon Bernthal is going to appear in Suicide Squad. While appearing at Wizard World’s Tulsa Comic Con this weekend, the actor discussed his role in Fury, and he mentioned that he would love to work with director David Ayer again.
Of course, David Ayer’s next project is Suicide Squad, which is based on the DC Comics team. In regard to Suicide Squad, Bernthal said that he couldn’t discuss if he had spoken with Ayer about the film. Apparently, some in the audience took Bernthal saying that he couldn’t talk about Suicide Squad as confirmation that he had been cast in the film.
However, as Tulsa World reports, Bernthal quickly backtracked on the crowd’s assumption that he had a role in the film. All Bernthal appeared to be meaning was he couldn’t talk about if he had discussions about the film.
So, it is not confirmed as to whether Bernthal has been cast in or is even up for a role in Suicide Squad, but wouldn’t he make a good Deadshot?

Joe M or Urban would work as Deathstroke. He needs to be physically intimidating and both actors would bring that without any problem.

Don't think a great actor is needed for Deathstroke. Just need a decent actor who is physically iimposing and intimidation and can do kick ass action. I would like Pitt...but not going to happen. I think Statham would be solid as Spade as well.

Clarke is not intimidating enough for me as Slade.

Joe M isn't even a "decent" actor, there is more to being physically imposing than being big and buff, the actor has to be able sell it, and he can't do that. He comes off as a WWE reject.

Eh, Manu Bennett turned in a great performance and I don't want to see anything less than that. Maybe Joe M could surprise me, but everything I've seen him in has left me underwhelmed. He has no on screen presence.

Why do you think Pitt wouldn't happen? Was that confirmed somewhere? Otherwise, I see no reason to rule it out. Especially considering he's worked with Ayer before. I'm sure whoever is cast as Slade will be an A-lister and/or Oscar nominee. All of the major bad guys in the DCCU have been cast that way so far. I define major as people recognizable to your casual fan.

Well DS is a recent addition to the Squad, and it seems that Ayer is interested more in the Ostrander run, given his tweets ect. The inclusion of Joker and Harley seems less a nod to the New 52 and more about setting things up for the wider DCCU and to add some character "star power" to a property most don't really have much of a handle on. If Deathstroke were going to be in this I think that he would have been cast and announced already. Those other castings we are waiting on are likely to be supporting characters and "canon fodder".

DEATHSTROKE IN #SUICIDESQUAD! Deathstroke works with/for #ONSLAUGHT & does their dirty work. He's a hired assassin and he doesn't have any powers like in the comic book. They're going for a pre-super villain Deathstroke. He's a huge part of both of the major set pieces of the film. His introduction is INSANE! He's badass & almost takes the team down on one mission single handed. Deathstroke has THE breakout & choicest role in the film. The running gun battle that sources are describing is something else. His suit is very stealth oriented. They used an actual US military tactical outfit for the basis. He's armed to the teeth, uses a sword and automatics. In concept artwork he has two eyes. The mask is there and it's the iconic one. Rumor about Jason Clarke still in play is not true because he originally got offered Deathstroke months ago but has a scheduling conflict with Marc Foster's' 'All I See Is You.' Joel Kinnaman originally tested for the role as well but got Rick Flagg instead. Joe Manganiello has a scheduling conflict with Ryan Murphy's 'Scream Queens' BUT HE JUST DROPPED OUT! What does that mean? Deathstroke is 'probably' his. Tune in tomorrow for more scoopage!
