) is what makes me excited about "Suicide Squad". This is were Ayer's style is going to shine I think."Fury" was so historically inaccurate and fights and effects were over the top and unrealistic (for example, that tank fight scene and the way they depicted tracer fire) that it was barely watchable to me. But the same over-the-topness that made "Fury" a very bad film to me (I aim for accuracy when watching a period piece, especially a WWII film, sue me) is what makes me excited about "Suicide Squad". This is were Ayer's style is going to shine I think.
t:Lol, I don't know if fictional films are the place to look for accuracy, period piece or otherwise. But do you homie.t:
https://***********/hashtag/Toronto?src=hashI believe in old school filmmaking. Real stunts. Real people. Real places. It makes all the difference on the screen. Thank you #Toronto
Well I don't expect 100% accuracy, as there never is one with movies, but if there's one genre where it makes sense to expect some it would be period pieces. Especially since today it is so easy to get all the information needed. There's no excuse for not doing your homework when writing a script (or a book, as a matter of fact) anymore.
And there have been some great period piece films that were were staying historically true, including World War films.
I'd rather them focus on making an entertaining film. Save the homework for a documentary.
One does not exclude the other. As someone who works on fictional stories I couldn't disagree more. Just because a work is for the large part fiction it doesn't give its author excuse to neglect those parts of the story which are not and do whatever he likes in the process.
Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now. Remember, only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.
Eastwood went on to discuss the stuntwork of Suicide Squad, affirming that filming the movie is a very physical process. "[It's] really physical. David is a very physical film maker. He wants everyone doing their own stuff and he doesn't hire guys who aren't willing to do that." As for physical injuries sustained on set, the actor said, "I think active guys are always living with injuries. You're always dealing with an injury. That's part of it. It's like sports. There's always something."
He then said that writer-director David Ayer's vision of the film will "really surprise" everybody.
