I saw Fury today, and I thought it was a pretty good movie. It dragged a lot in the second act, and it ended closer to a whimper than a bang, but the script was solid and the direction was just as good, if not better. 8/10.

A thought just occured to me regarding the Ayre movies i've seen – Sabotage, End of Watch and Fury –

they all end with deaths to main characters (all the characters in Sabotage's case)

– so it's not looking good for all the Squad!

After street kings and end of watch I thought all hope was lost for ayer, but after fury I think he may have hope. Even though the last 30 minutes were awful I thought performances and pacing was good.

I thought End of Watch was pretty good. Actually, I think it's better than Fury, though not as good in the cinematography department.

So Grace Randolph made what I think is a good point about comedic touches. She thought it was pretty weak and I kind of agree. Harley and Joker is bit too grounded. I find Ledger's Joker to be more wacky so far. Comedy isn't really Ayer's forte and he's writing and directing.

I'm starting to think this movie needed another writer involved if only for Joker and Harley because with those character you really have to brainstorm and think outside the box. Things like what kind of tattoos Joker would have or what kind zany moments should Harley have requires a different kind of creativity that might not be in Ayer's wheelhouse. From the trailer, think it does lack quirkiness when it comes to Joker, Harley, and even Enchantress.
