I'm going to paraphrase Joss Whedon on why casting a "quirky" actor like Cara may be a brilliant move for drama: energetic and funny people can make great dramatic actors since they're generally masters of timing a already excell at emoting.
And the brief little glimpses we've seen of Cara as Moon seem to show her doing a lot of facial acting and emoting, while Enchantress looks creepy as hell, but in a way where you can kind of see Cara's using her model's stare as a force for evil.
I could be wrong, mind you, but it looks like Ayer wants a character the audience can understand by the looks on their face, and that might be right up her alley.
