High School=hell

Well, all I can say is good luck. I'm going into my Junior year and I hate high school, but that's just me. I mean, you get to carry your back packs around, you have more responsibility over yourself, etc.

Like Drakon...I was in an inner city school and a public school system. I got completely ripped off on my education. Everyone gets picked on in high school. It doesn't matter who you are...that is life. Life craps on you every chance it gets. High school is training to what you will have to expect in real life. Because those people picking on you and giving you crap? Guess what...they are going to grow up and have to work...just like you...and when you go to work you will be around the same jerk offs except you will be getting paid.

So if you are not going to stand up for yourself now or just let peoples crap roll off your back, well, life is going to be rough.

Just shrug your shoulders and pay no attention to people who give you crap. Because nine times out of ten the people who give you crap in school are 1000 times more insecure about themselves and fearful inside than you are...they just take their insecurities out on others because that's all that their parents taught them to do.

Just focus on your school work and getting into a good college and a good education. That way you can get a good job and follow your dreams...and once you are out of high school...guess what? It does get better. It gets a lot better. But remember...high school is a glimpse into how people will act around you in real life. Look around you and remember...most of these people who pick on you and give you crap will probably have very miserable lives.

Good luck.

Y'know...I cant really feel bad for people who get picked on by everyone. Why? Well, theres a reason why.

If you're small, acne ridden, talk like a chipmonk with a broken nose, and are super shy....stop. Stop being like that.

See, I'm not a popular fella....but not unpopular. Only one dude picked on me, and everyone hates him anyway. But I got the **** over it, and moved on. My problems are dealing with fitting in, but I AM working on it. I'm trying to revamp my personality. It wont make me different from myself, but make myself more interesting.

I'm very shy, with anxity problems....but y'know what? I have two choices. Be all quiet, in the back, or just let myself be free. Dont worry about what people will think. Just be "cool".

If your getting picked on....find out why...and change it. And i'm speaking to all the picked on kids. Not just one.

Yeah still two wrongs do not make a right and i did stand up for myself. Kid was talking trash so i punched him in the face. Did not get suspended cause it was only one week left of school lol. But afterwards well i feel a little happy.

So, if people don't like you, be someone else.

And all this time, I was led to believe that was bad. YOU LIED TO ME, "ABC VERY SPECIAL AFTERNOON SPECIALS!!"

I miss the relatively care-free days of high school. Wait til you get a job and a family and bills and real life grabs you firmly by the nads. And you still get to deal with all the idiots you did in high school. Except now you don't get the summers off.

Fun stuff.

Be yourself.

People play games and pretend to be people they are not to be popular or get something from you. They might look happy on the outside but inside they are damaged goods.

I have found that the people who accept you, acne and all, are the people you can count on. The ones who pretend to be nice and all, usually have an ulterior motive or play games.

Don't worry about what others think about you. Find happiness with yourself, accept yourself and you will be more confident and happy. Then you will find people will like you and respect you for who you really are.

Haha. Yeah, but I don't want to scare some of these kids to death! One step at a time! :woot:

I wish Chris Cornell was my bff in high school.

Ugh....no. I ment change yourself. If you're really shy, and weasly, change it up. You can still be YOU...but not the same you.

You have to find yourself. And if being who you are aint workin for ya, change it.

Doesnt mean you have to be someone else. It makes sense to me though.

Yes...this is what I was saying.

But you have to find a good personality that works with everyone. So for example, if you act like a huge crazy nerd, and rant about movies all the time....tone it down.

Highschool isn't that bad.

Indeed. Once you get into the real world of work where you have a jerk for a boss and issues with Bills, neighbours, family, whackjobs on the internet ... Like cuts the nads off and puts them through the grinder ...

Summers off, lots of vacation, minimal effort and money to spend however you want? Yeah. High School is easy street.

Partially true. Find a few friends or an outlet for your movie schtick but broaden your horizons. As you get older you will realize that comics, movies and things like that aren't the only things out there ...

Plus chicks like a guy with a wider conversation ability ... and the experiences that come with doing different things with your time.

Be yourself, but the self that can be friends with more than one group of people.

To be quite honest I just wish I would have been more of an a-hole.

The troubles of having a somber demeanor.

Freshman year~ Just basically the same, except there's older students around
Sophomore year was my awkward phase, that was the year I broke out of my shell and made tons of new friends so I was overwhelmed. From only 12 friends to 50+ friends.
Junior Year was just pure hell: tests, drama, and even more homework.
Senior Year was my favorite, the easy year of my entire high school life.

My advice to you: Just be who you really are, join some clubs with the same interests as yours, and always hang out with at least one or two friend(s) because people tends to bully on solo targets (only if they look weird or just has a quality that attracts bullies).

I loved high school. I think I peaked then. I doubt I'll ever be that awesome again. At my ten-year reunion, I'm sure I won't be saying anything but, "Yeah, well... I was the Homecoming King. Remember that? Yeah." :csad:

Life gets better the older I get. More things to be thankful for and more experiences to look back on and enjoy.

You never appreciate what you have while you have it ... then you are moving onto something else challenging and difficult. That is what life and aging is all about. :ghost:

So far high school has been great. Played freshman football and varsity volleyball, met lots of cool people and made high honor roll both semesters. Supposedly, sophomore year is a lot easier so I'm not too worried at all.
