Fantasy Highlander Remake

I like Reynolds as an actor, but i don't think I can buy him as a world weary warrior.

hell gerard butler is Scottish and plays a bad ass with ease and a better actor

Eh, I wouldn't say Butler's a better actor than Reynolds, or even a good actor in general. His only decent role was in 300 because he was so OTT that it worked with Miller's material. He's the definition of a charisma sucker and has no presence whatsoever (or talent, but I digress).

Obviously I'm pro-Ryan for this, but I still don't know if he's supposed to be a Highlander. I agree that if he's signed on to be Connor McLeod, I'm not very impressed.

Butler isn't bad but I wouldn't want to see him in this because it just feels like uninspired, "go-to guy" casting. However, I still have a lot of trouble seeing Reynolds in this. But who knows? Maybe he'll knock it out of the park. He played a great serious character in Safe House, so people really need to stop the "he's only good at playing a *****ebag" talk. Still, it's really hard to see him as a Scottish highlander.

I liked Safe House in terms of the characters and story. But I suffered from a splitting head ache due to watching it. The camera work is terrible.

Butler should play Sean Connerys character from the first movie.:oldrazz:

funny post lol you say butler is the go to guy and uninspired lol yet reynolds is in everything lol

gets green lantern when he was already deadpool

now gets highlander

and is in RIPD withe jeff bridges

if anything reynolds is the go to male actor as of late

Reynold's is TOXIC

Blade 3 - Terrible
X3 - Terrible
Green Lantern - Terrible

He just comes across as annoying to me. I really hope this isn't true but Highlander is a movie I absolutely love and I've even seen all the sequels.

wolverine was crap, along with Green Lantern.

I went into Green Lantern with an opening mind thinking people were just jumping on the bandwagon but nope, that movie is truly bad. I will give it the training montage because I loved it but I got 2 minutes of pleasure in a 120 minute movie. Great.

If this movie is successful and launches a new franchise, maybe Reynolds can finally get over his obssession of playing superhero roles.

And I still don't think he's playing a McLeod, but a pupil of his. Think Kung Fu Panda.

I wasn't saying Reynolds was inspired casting either, sorry if that wasn't clear. I think there are much, much better choices out there. Just pointing out that casting Butler to me is the equivalent of saying: "An action movie about a Scotsman? Cast Gerard Butler! He's the only Scottish actor on earth!"

That phrase was stupid beforehand. Green Lantern made it funny.

Or made it more awful. ;)

I know there are some people who enjoyed Green Lantern at a 'fun level' and that's fine, but it's the epitome of 'miss potential' if I've ever seen one. At the perspective, the movie failed, and it wasn't even an interesting failure like Ang Lee's Hulk.

I know Reynolds, but not as Connor. This decision is a perfect example of casting a big name for the lead part just for the sake of such as Keanu Reeves for Constantine or Kristen Stewart for Snow White.

And I still don't think he's playing a McLeod, but a pupil of his.

Ironically, if this was a reboot of Duncan MacLeod's Highlander, Ryan would be perfect as Richie Ryan.

I don't think ANY of those can actually be blamed on him, though. Actually, beyond Jackman, who I still love as Wolverine, Reynolds as Wade Wilson was the highlight of the film, only to be ruined when they replaced him with the non-speaking "Deadpool."

I will say there is only one Duncan and Methos. Ryan can be Connor. Also, Highlander Endgame is a good movie...well, if you watch the rough cut on the second disc. Producers cut is decent. To hell with the Dimension...Films. I'm kiddin, I luv your logo.

Highlander tv series> movies.

Richie Ryan never should had died. Hell, the series never had a true storyarc! Was always rushed 2-3 episode arcs! Evil Duncan too rushed. It's biggest baddie was only in 5 episodes...ish. Then there's wasted Methos. Noooo, went with sexy Amanda for spin-off. Lol, fail.

Not ironic, I do believe he's playing a Richie-like guy.

You know they should get for the Scottsman/Highlander role? Kevin McKidd.
