April 23, 2008

Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nick Stoller is reteaming with Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures for the comedy Get Him to the Greek, with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand attached to star, reports Variety.

Stoller has been tapped to write and direct the film, which centers on a fresh-out-of-college insurance adjuster (Hill) who is hired to accompany an out-of-control rock star (Brand) from London to a gig at L.A.'s Greek Theater.

Hill and Brand played supporting roles in Universal's "Sarah Marshall"; Stoller made his feature directing debut on the pic.

Stoller is co-writing and will direct the comedy Five-Year Engagement for Universal, with Jason Segel co-writing and attached to star. He and Segel are also collaborating on a new Muppet movie for Disney.
Should be good i Liked Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand will be joined by Rose Byrne (Damages), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), and Sean Combs in the Forgetting Sarah Marshall sequel, Get Him to the Greek, which is scheduled to begin shooting in August.

The movie, from Universal Pictures, centers on Brand's outrageous character from Marshall, the out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow, and Aaron, a fresh-from-college insurance adjuster (Hill) who must accompany Snow to a concert at L.A.'s Greek Theater. Moss is set to play Daphne Binks, Aaron's girlfriend, while Byrne will be in the role that Emily Blunt was once incorrectly rumored to have, that of a promiscuous pop musician named Jackie Q, who may perform a duet with Snow. Combs has been cast as Sergio. Writer/director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will direct this followup, based on a screenplay he also penned.

I'm sure there will be a Red band trailer sometime later on. To show all the raunchy rude stuff not allowed in it.

i love Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so I'm looking forward to it.

I love that Brand's playing the same character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall off to watch the trailer. Still don't see why they just couldn't have had Jonah Hill be his character from that movie as well.

Cause they had different jobs maybe and in the end of FSM the Jonah character totally flipped out on the Brand character and that was the last of him.

Its prolly funnier for a character that doesn't know him and how to handle him.

Yeah, that trailer was pretty unfunny. Hopefully the movie's just as good as Sarah Marshall however.

Double post.

I think it'd be just as funny if you had Snow having to put up with Hill's Sarah Marshall character getting him to his show, but oh well. Hopefully the movie's good irregardless.

I'm still confused why they can't have Hill play the same character from FSM. I think he was much funnier in the role as waiter/obsessive fan. If they don't address that in the movie, it will bother me.

Got to see this today, really enjoyed it. Not worried about Brand not being able to carry Arthur at all now. Not as good as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but definitely in the same universe.

7.5/10

Looks like Brand is making it big in America finally, he's even rumored for the Arthur remake.

This movie is hilarious.

I totally just downloaded the Infant Sorrow album. Great stuff.

He is still a huge fan of Brands character and in a more believable way.

I thought it was so funny I almost cried laughing during the scene where they smoke the Jeffrey. I thought it was funny throughout , a lot of good lines and i'll probably see this again this weekend .

And the part where they have a threesome and the Mind F**k part.

"You can't outrun me, I'm black!":awesome:

Or the part where he gets his by a car and gets right up.

Another great Apatow produced movie.

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the guy, but he was one of the funnier things in it.

"Look, I'm eating my own head"

"Mind****"

Brand just works awesome as this part, because you can buy he has such a messed up lifestyle it would almost kill Jonah's character in 3 days.

I think after this, I would watch another Aldous Snow movie. It's such a good character, that I think Arthur never happens brand should be safe.

Another part that made me laugh was when he said "When you're mind F**king me, you better wear a condom, I have a dirty mind"

But you're right i can't stand him, but I thought he was funny as hell.

And the line to Pharell about him being one sweater away from Carlton and then doing the Carlton dance.

I mean I don't know why people hate Brand, he works well as the over the top guy in these movies. And towards the end in the dramatic scene I guess you could call it, he did pretty good. I'm sure it is true about of Rock stars that they are lonely and the only things they have are the fans. I mean not alot, but I'm sure there are some we don't know this about.

Forgot about that one, that was a good one because he was deadpan when he is doing it, which made it funnier.
